When Harry Reid went nuclear in November of 2013, Obama had already appointed over 200 US district and appellate judges to lifetime appointments, which includes two Supreme Court justices. Reid went nuclear specifically over 3 seats for the US court of appeals for the DC Circuit. Over THREE seats! And, note, one of these seats was empty precisely because Democrats blocked GWB's efforts to fill it.

Harry Reid let the snake out of its cage, when he ended the fillibuster. Blame Harry for all these Conservative Federal Judges who will rule for the next 30-40 years. His nuclear option had tremendous fallout for the Democrat party...who are now feeling the agonizing pain.
Harry Reid won a battle, but the Republicans won the War.
Be forewarned...if the Dems pack the court, there will be similar unforeseen circumstances. Same for adding States; like DC, or Puerto Rico.
