Look at San Francisco, Detroit, Chicago, and Philadelphia.
As long as people are allowed to be individuals and have freedom of thought, there will never be utopia...and no society should be compared against or held to that standard. People have differing opinions, abilities, appearance,etc. All of those things make for disparities among individuals and it will always be that way.
Unless the State has complete control, which I do not advocate for with either party.

They are already in charge of pretty much every metro area, and those areas generate 85% of America's economic output.
If Republicans were in total control, it would look like rural Alabama.

Tighter gun control, more taxes, less debt for Americans

#1 - Clean up ACA is likely priority #1 if Dems get majority. Ensure people get to keep insurance if pre-existing conditions. Ensure kids can stay on their parents plan until age 26. Maybe have a Medicare Option for those 60+ but they have to pay for it. It would be an option over private plan but they can choose which they want.
#2 - Infrastructure plan including Clean Energy Jobs that Biden brings up is also very high priority.
#3 - Revert Trump's tax cuts to corporations and those making over $400,000/year
#4 - Get rid of the Trump tariffs and stop the trade war. Farmers will rejoice. Cost of goods for Americans will decrease

#2 California is the one in need of infrastructure, given its green initiative has left the state with millions of acres burnt crisp, Green jobs? Not enough electricity in green to support any kind of economy.
#3 Too funny. Job one id the reinstate of the SALT deduction to continue masking how poorly Dem led enclaves are run with their current extraordinary taxes only on the rich.
#4 Yes, give into Chinese, give the Chinese more U.S. $ to continue to race ahead of the U.S. Oh yeah, we get more cheap goods that the jobless Americans can no long pay for [unless fluent in Mandarin].

I think we'd be somewhere between Ukraine and Tijuana, infrastructure would fail and be left unrepaired (bridges, wastewater, roads, etc), while the liberal "Czars" stand on the steps to their Lear jet, or the deck of their yacht on the way to one of their seaside properties or islands, telling the people they just don't have the money to fix it.
We have a Czar in New York State named Cuomo.
