Which is a bigger number? 30 or 54? 69 or 53?

or, if you prefer, in July there were 26,215 deaths. In September, there were 21,743. Which one of thosee is a larger number?

Is 66,125 bigger?

It's a casedemic now, positivity rate is slightly up, but my god they are testing 1,000,000/day at this point. It's mind blowing that anyone is still concerned about covid 19.

Yeah - it's hardly skyrocketing. Use a different word.

Like - "More today than yesterday, but overall down from a month ago, and a general downward trend."

"Skyrocketing" is the amount of hyperbole attached to minor statistical fluctuations in COVID.

Is he serious? Trump's behavior has gotten increasingly strange. His speeches are not even based in reality.

The truth is the cases the are skyrocketing. Each and every day, I look at the states numbers and they have skyrocketed in the Midwest and Inter-Mountain West.

Transmission rates are skyrocketing. Increasing rapidly in 40 out of 50 states.

Uh....

It's not the "cases" that matter. It's the deaths. Treatments are much better than 6 months ago.

I think it’s entirely possible that his people aren’t telling him everything.

Trump is akin to Brezhnev in this old Soviet joke:

A train carrying Lenin, Stalin, Khrushchev and Brezhnev stops suddenly when the tracks run out. Each leader applies his own way of handing problems: Lenin gathers workers and peasants from miles around and encourages them to build more track. Stalin shoots the crew when the train still doesn’t move. Khrushchev rehabilitates the dead crew and orders the tracks behind the train ripped up and relaid in front. Brezhnev pulls the curtains down and rocks back and forth, pretending the train is moving.

At the same time, cases are not skyrocketing. Our first wave (NYC, Boston, New Orleans), we did not have adequate testing capacity so we never knew how many people were infected. It was many times higher than the reported.

Our second wave (Florida, Texas, California, Arizona), we had adequate testing, so number of infected persons was much larger. But deaths were way lower.

Our third wave (midwestern states, some southern states), the cases are not higher than our second wave, our deaths will be lower as well.

That's all described in his phantom healthcare plan which lies in a time capsule slated to be opened in 2150 C.E..

It's not the "cases" that matter. It's the deaths.

If someone you love is one of them - yes. If you're making policy - not so much. The goal here is to keep hospitalizations under a level we can tolerate. Yes, one implies the other - but if treatments improved to such a point that nearly NO ONE died - the policies would STILL be in place, because dead people don't need health care.

Ask Canada.

Meantime - I already pointed out - it's hardly skyrocketing. Elevated very recently, perhaps, but skyrocketing?

Here's a request - if cases or deaths DOUBLE over a 7 day period versus the previous 7 days - then post some crap about it skyrocketing. 10% increase? Only if the 10% decrease next week causes you to post something about rates plunging.

Just because you say it, doesn't make it true.

Unless you completely dismiss science, which shows that cases are up by 30% in 36 states.
