So disingenuous. Yes there is a drought in New England, but eventually it'll end and turn wet again. The northeast/new england has a way different climate than California and you know that.
This is why the GOP likes to say "it's a Republic". From their tax plan, federal budget to hurricane relief, it's all weighed toward the red states right now. Texas was rained with money while people in Puerto Rico were dying. Remember Hurricane Sandy? The GOP withheld funds, then lost their minds at how fast they could send money to Southern red states. They love the idea of taking California's tax money but telling them to pound sand over wildfires. Hope they remember it when turnabout occurs.
I hope future Presidents will be more statesmanlike. This is, or was, just petty.
Or someone impressed upon Trump just how bad this looked weeks before the election.
That's a more likely scenario. He doesn't want any bad optics this close to election day. Otherwise, he couldn't care less.
