These texts don't include my name.
I get calls from the GOP because somehow they got my home number. I have called Tillis and Burr's office. My guess is they keep track of their calls and think whoever calls them is a supporter.

Money buys a lot of info on everyone. Very orwellian today. I will not buy high tech talking devices in my home such as alexa. I believe they are spying devices.. they also know what we watch on tv..what channels we tune into. What we buy. What websites we go to. It is all free game and it all can be used against us if we go socialist communist. We will have controls on every aspect of our lives. We will be evaluated for what we think, watch and buy.

These are only the spying methods we are aware of!!! God knows what other 'secret' methods they employ? This is whats really scary to me.

I truly believe they have technology WELL beyond what the public is currently aware of, and they use this to gather all sorts of information on all of us, (one has to wonder what they intend to do with this information as well), I dont think it will be a good thing for people.

Ive seen evidence of this kind of technology while using certain search engines, There have been times when I started to type something into the search bar...and before I type 4 or 5 letters, the suggestion pop up bar shows up with what it thinks Im looking for....99.9% of the time, the FIRST one on the list, is the topic I was going to ask about!

I realize they factor in my past search history, but in many cases, Im searching for something totally unrelated and the search engine still knows what Im going to type, before I type it. It is very true, that new technology is indistinguishable from magic!!

Of course, on the other hand, if they had all this super spying technology on all of us...why are there still 1000s of 'wanted' people that are able to fly beneath the radar? I find it hard to believe they truly do not know where these people are, they are not that dumb!

cold calls. You have a million numbers and the robo texts go out to any and all.

The amt. of junk mail, spam texts is crazy.

And yes the car dealer sold your number.
And a cell phone is no better than a landline?

This, too.

I have never given my cell number to anybody but immediate family.

The only time i use it is to adjust my hearing aids and listen to Spotify.

I do not get mail on it. But I do get marketing calls from all sorts of companies and candidates.

everything to type, text or say is recorded. everything. i also heard that anything you type on your computer and then erase may also be recorded.

while I am at it - I suppose google and the tech companies can tailor what you see and learn based on your profile. So someone that leans left will get different search results, news stories and information for the same thing - as someone that leans right. media masters at work. scary.

The laws around this stuff are constantly changing and so you have people that will obey those laws and find loopholes....while your scammers will just ignore the laws.

For political texts I believe I read that they can't robo-text you but they can manually outsource that really cheaply and are likely using voter rolls.

Every day my mailbox has these big glossy color candidate mailers which have to cost a whole heckuva lot more than paying someone to type in 10 digits to send a pre-set text message from a computer in India or wherever.

This is the first year I've gotten political texts that I can recall and is possibly linked to our request for a mail in ballot.
