When people attempt to cross into another bubble for debate, they get condemned or ostracized (like when college campuses block respected conservatives from speaking or a Trump supporter pulls down a Biden sign). Cancel culture fits with this. This is alienating groups and making them more extreme since they just retreat into their unchallenged bubble.

Everyone also seems to talk in extremes. When Obama was President, the right tried to say he was a socialist attempting to destroy America. With Trump, it's flipped, with the left saying he's a racist attempting to destroy America. Every news story gets painted to the extreme. Wildfires in California? It means that climate change will END THE WORLD. A Christian conservative on the Supreme Court? It means the court will be biased FOR GENERATIONS. A Biden victory in November? It means socialism will REIGN IN AMERICA. Why is everyone so paranoid? People need to get a grip. Not every election is the most important election of all time. Politics in a democracy is give and take. You can't and won't get everything you want. It doesn't mean the sky is falling.

So to fix things, I think the two sides need to stop alienating each other, no matter how repulsive they think each other's views are. And people need to stop talking in extremes.
Here's a little tip for you in case you are a young person. They have called every GOP President a racist since time began.

Pretty easy. Dump Trump as a starting point.

Asians make more money than any other race...including white's.

Inter-racial marriages abound here in the U.S.. There are no constraints.
Making a race issue was the only way to keep blacks voting Democrat since economically, they were faring far better under Trump.

I think we should let Biden try to fulfill his threat to take Trump behind the gym and "beat the hell out of him".

And let the Winner Take All!

Let the NORMAL people in the center, which is most of us, be heard over the screeching and catterwalling of people with borderline personality disorders.
Yes. I really believe most of us can get along okay, if it's promoted.

8 years of Biden followed by 8 years of Kasich, followed by 8 years of Nikki Haley or Tulsi Gabbard would probably mend the country more than anything else.

Not much of anything. Once a segment of the population is radicalized and wishes to control the other segment of the population, nothing much will stop them besides force. Do you think you could have talked a kamikaze pilot out of using his plane as a missile as he was zeroing in on a ship? Nope. It's shoot him down or be destroyed.

Mend the country how?

Explain it in terms of what they as President can do, all by themselves, that "mends" whatever it is you think is broken, and recall that 56% of the country is happier today than they were 4 years ago. So how does 8 years of Biden keep those 56% as happy (or happier) as they are now, and also gets the other 44% to be happier than they are now. How exactly does he do that? Same question for Kasich, or Gabbard, or Haley, or any freaking person you name.

I see this kind of claim made all the time, and I would love to hear the rationale behind it.

Trump is extremely divisive. I personally don't get irked by Trump's words but a significant percent of the country does. It's not what they do that mends the country but what they don't do, that mends the country.

Biden, is very uncontroversial (The only reason he is controversial is election season) and doesn't bring any sort of energy to his supporters, I'll vote for Biden 10/10 over Trump but you would never catch me at a Biden political rally, I know his views on things, and he is nowhere as leftward as Bernie.

Kasich is very similar to Biden just on the right. Gabbard and Haley are both extremely passionate, and their good for the country from an international perspective, and I think both of those candidates value not alienating people over most other candidates that like to pander to one side.

Look at when all the fervor started Hillary vs. Trump or Biden vs. Trump. I heard little hate towards Romney personally except from the stereotypical super-liberal, same with McCain. Their were attack ads of course but it was stereotypical stuff. Anti-fa and BLM aren't gonna call Kasich a fascist/racist or even if they did it's going to be the 10% that sees everyone whose on the opposite side of the Spectrum as a fascist/racist. His divisive issue is socially religious stuff (Gay rights etc.), but that's normal in America and doesn't cause anywhere near the fervor as the purely political division.

16 years of quote on quote, non-radical "boring" politicians would do America very well because time does heal. Now that's ignoring completely the international policy of those candidates, but internally I don't see how either of those candidates will be as divisive as Obama was to right-wingers (I thought he was fine but the majority of the RW seem to hate him/dislike him), or how Trump is (I think he's divisive, but don't hate him, while many LW I know spit on the ground and curse him when they say his name).

Happiness also has nothing to do with division. Under Obama and the first three years of Trump the country improved significantly from an economic standpoint. Biden and Kasich could both be atrocious economically, but economic issues never, and I mean NEVER cause as much division as social issues do, at least in America.

I personally think Kamala is okay, but I can see how she would be divisive like Obama was to Right wingers so I would rather have 8 years of Biden followed by 8 years of Kasich followed by Gabbard/Haley for 8 years.
