We can bicker about these little details all day long. The bigger picture is , Joe states he plans on ending our gun violence epidemic.

"Joe Biden knows that gun violence is a public health epidemic. Almost 40,000 people die as a result of firearm injuries"

Roughly 23,000 of those 40,000 are suicides. I don't see how registering magazines and semi auto rifles will help those that are thinking of suicide. 14,000 is the number of actual homicides. Of that number , only 364 (2018) were committed using rifles, 200 using shotguns. 3200 using "not stated" firearms, and the remainder were done with handguns. Now, any reduction in these numbers is a good thing, but if one was truly trying to reduce the number of deaths, would one target the item used the most ? And spend more emphasis on mental health to help reduce the number of suicides ?

Roughly 2400 people were killed by knives, fists, and blunt instruments vs 300 by rifles. And a magazine and semi auto rifle registration is going to help ? Yeah, I'm calling Bull**** on that.

There are people who own machineguns, short-barrel firearms, silencers and destructive devices who haven’t broken any laws either, which are registered with the ATF.

I remember when people in Minnesota cried when they had to sign into an electronic registry in order to purchase Sudafed at their local pharmacy. The end result was that people still got their cold medication with a minor inconvenience and meth production in the state plummeted 90+%. Not saying this is apples-to-apples, but similar practices have worked in other applications.
Not sure this is technically considered grandfathered in.

You’re missing my point. I said it wasn’t apples-to-apples, but it showed a scenario where required registration had the positive effect of allowing safe/legal use while weeding out a large amount of misuse.

If it isn’t then it should be. I would concede that point to you.

.......
The more one applies rules and regulations to rights, the less of a right it becomes.

We have a right to possess any weapon that anyone else could use against us.

Sure, I don’t disagree. In this case I personally don’t take issue with common sense regulations that still allow law abiding citizens to have their 2nd amendment rights. That’s all.

you are only seeing part of the sentence...

banning the manufacture (and most of the manufacturers are NOT USA) and sale for ownership of said weapons/parts and mandatory registration AND voluntary buy back

As you wish to believe......what most of us believe is not to trust them because they want to disarm us, not for safety reasons. Why do they want us not to have a rifle that is over 70 years old? Why do they not want us to have pistol technology that is over a century old? They come back time and time again "asking" for more.

We don't trust them and seeing how these regulations are directed to the citizen and not the criminal, why should we?

You turn the weapon in, or you register it (pay a fine to keep it), or? What is the "else" condition, please explain.
