This started with Bill Clinton. China is cheap labor for the wealthy elite democrats.

Actually, trade relations with China were normalized in 1982, subject to annual authorization. Reagan, Bush 1 and then Clinton continued the relations.
In 2000, Republicans controlled both chambers. A Republican introduced a bill to make relations permanent. It passed both chambers with bipartisan support, favoring the Republican majority.
Pelosi was a No vote.
McConnel was a Yea vote.
My point here is that after 18 years of normalized trade relations with China, Republicans led the initiative to make relations permanent and Clinton signed off.
No question, had Clinton not been on board, Bush 2, like his father and Reagan would have signed it.
All attire, leather goods, home goods, furnishings, jewelry, etc produced under the Trump Org brand were made anywhere but the US, while the business chased the cheapest sources of labor in China, India, Bangladesh and Viet Nam.
Trump Org could have chosen to manufacture in the US. Instead it chose to increase its profit margins by manufacturing in countries with the cheapest sources of labor.
There is nothing in Trump’s past that remotely suggests putting America first. It was and remains a swell gimmick to tap into the anger of American people because technology and industrial robotics has and will continue to eliminate more jobs than offshoring ever did.
After all the huffing and puffing, the trade imbalance with China increases.
China is the world’s largest consumer of commercial jets. Boeing’s survival has long depended on itS pipeline of future orders from China. The issues with the Max 737 and other new models is a significant contributer to the ongoing imbalance. Airbus is the primary beneficiary of Boeing’s challenges.
( I am not a Trump nor a Biden supporter).
