I think he should wipe everyone out... put in his preferred people... and then say - you know, you are right - I will rescind this order and return the civil employees to the previous status per Oct 21.

This Executive Order does not just cover , but a whole host of career federal service people that can have almost unstoppable impact on policy which can profoundly impact Americans, and they can thumb their noses at the elected officials who are held responsible for their actions. This has needed to be done for some time.

Firing Fauci would be a great way for Trump to lose the election. It would draw attention to Trump's failed Covid response.
He probably will fire him after the election, whether he wins or loses the election. Fauci has only been kept him on board because it's political suicide to do otherwise. Once the election is over, Trump won't care about this any longer.

It removes protections for career professionals and opens their jobs up to increased partisan politics.
Terrible move.
