The very definition of liberal indicates a willingness and openness to make changes for the betterment of society or the community or the nation. This is normally a function of empathy. Liberals are problem solvers by nature.
When things are out of whack, liberals will examine the problem and advocate for a solution. They need to be free to do just that. They need an open marketplace of ideas to advocate for change, and a government mechanism capable of adjusting.
Authoritarianism suppresses the people's ability to work for meaningful change. It disables them, and they must accept the status quo and the standards established for them by the powers in charge. Liberalism dies under authoritarian government. It thrives in a free republic.
No liberal will accept authoritarian rule. It is contrary to everything they believe.

-Bullying others to "chant after them" (say what they want you to say) in social places
-Burn down your business if they don't like you
-Call black law enforcement uncle Toms
-Radicalize the entertainment industry in such a way it is now hard to find anything without a leftist agenda in the center. It is ruining entertainment as the plots have to work around a PC message!
-Rail against democracy every chance they get
-Call traditional values as racist
-Work to cancel you from your job if you say something they don't like
-Against the 2nd amendment
-Liberal media lies constantly reworking the truth to fit their agenda 1984 style

Correct. Modern leftists are not liberals. The modern democrat party are not liberals, they are leftist, Marxists. Today's republicans with all their faults are much closer to liberals than today's democrats.
The real scary part is the ~30% of the US population that supports anti-democratic ideals and embraces this move to authoritarianism. I'm hoping we can re-integrate this segment back but, sometimes, I'm not sure it is even possible. Even when Trump is gone, these people will still be with us looking for another Trump to embrace and I think the current Republican party will easily find a replacement.
Funny, since it's the Democrats in the US who are the authoritarians, they oppose much of the US Constitution, don't respect federalism, the Green New Deal is one giant big government authoritarian manifesto, and Biden is all on board with it.
BTW, why do people equate US vernaculars with foreign nations? A conservative in the US has nothing in common at all with the so called conservatives in other nations, much less the Republican Party.
The irony here is palpable. The democrats look like the Soviet Union and Maoist China. They try to say it's republicans although democrats are the ones burning up cities, rioting in the streets, cancelling and destroying the livelihood of those who disagree with them, assaulting and murdering innocent people in the streets while constantly lying about it and blaming the other side.

You're spot on here. I do believe that 30% of the Republican Party to too far gone, the QAnon whacko's, the anti-government nuts, the anti-science Evangelicals, all of these people are highly susceptible to the daily drumbeat of fake news and conspiracy theories. They pose a genuine national security threat.
