I guess that's the most profound comment the far-Lefties' on Monkey Island can come up with.

Because the damn thing kept barking loudly in my ear that I was xenophobic and afflicted with various "-isms." Finally I had to have it put down when it tried to topple my Yosemite Sam statue and burn the house down. The vet said it was a severe and un-treatable case of twenty-first century liberalism.

You may think I hate religion because I expect people to keep their religion personal and not use THEIR religion to influence MY life, but you'd be wrong.
I used to say if I had to belong to a religion it would be Judaism (well, Reform Judaism) because they expect you to question, they don't proselytize, and the afterlife isn't based on reward or punishment. But the amount of required reading was intimidating.

Jews also get into heaven in both the Jewish and Christian faiths (albeit having to go through a bit of a hard time first in the Christian faith, but what does that matter measured against eternity) so it would be a good religion to chose if you want to hedge your bets.

I'm mostly conservative and I'm athiest. I respect religion as long as its not used to bring down others.

Because government is supposed to take care of us, not God.

The issue with ACB was her obvious bias in many of her articles towards her faith, it wasn't hatred just questioning whether she could be objective in her decisions. It's alright to profess your religion but doesn't belong in your public views if you are a judges. I can just imagine if a Muslim judge was appointed and expressed their religious views as she had in the past.

Liberals do not hate religion. They believe in freedom of religion in that someone else's religion should not be imposed on everyone. Most liberals do not hold the view that their religion is the ONLY valid one. They respect other paths. Right wing religion, on the other hand, feels free to judge other religions, and to impose their path on everyone. I am, by the way both a political liberal and a liberal Christian. I went to a church with my mom once that was a conservative congregation, and the pastor trashed every other religion, including other types of Christianity. He literally said "we are the only ones who have it right". Judgementalism and hubris. Neither of us ever went back there. Whenever someone says "you will go to hell", they belong to a religion which is self righteous, prideful, and judgemental. This is not what God wants of us.

But do you keep your religious based beliefs from influencing others ? You just said so yourself the rabbis are leftists and are involved in social programs.
