Why do some of the same people who claim to love America the most seem to hate its largest, most successful, economic powerhouse cities and the majority of the people?
Is it going to take another 9/11 for these people to come around to loving all of America again? “Liberal hellholes” included?
I do fault Clinton’s “basket of deplorables” comment for some of this. But she lost and is irrelevant now. How do we get past this?

I don't hate cities or even a small number of the people but I sure have contempt for some of their local and national leadership as I am sure many of their citizens do also.

And that’s a perfectly reasonable point of view. But I’m talking about the flag wavers that call great American cities hellholes.

Where do you hear patriotic Americans saying they hate America's cities and most of its people?
Lots of contradictions
Among us
Everybody says
We are the good guys
They burned and looted my town last June saying just that-
A month later when they came back for a second shot- those that opposed- were called white supremists -
I thought we were just trying to keep our shops from being burned -most of which are minority
Did I mention the burners and looters were white?

You sound confused.
All over the place. They seem very confused. Was just taking to one who was way down the QAnon hole that spawned this thought. One of the reasons he gave was how only a few are getting wealthy in cities while others suffer. Which ironically made them sound more like a 99%er or a socialist/communist because his reasoning was essentially that capitalism worked too well in cities. But he’s also one of the ones out with his rifle defending the establishment from “Antifa”.

Many of them self proclaimed to be patriots but they fly the flags of countries that we defeated.
The word "patriot" has been hijacked to some degree by right-wing extremists. More reasonably minded people need to take the word back.
Per Merriam Webster it simply means "one who loves and supports his or her country".
