Bill Maher? He is an Anti Trumper that had loads of fun poking mean spirited fun at him that went beyond the casual humor of a talk show. I put Bill Maher in the same category as so many other "celebrities" and elected that were actively working to divide the people of this nation with the wedge of politics.

I guess his appeal for Peace is because he thinks that Biden is going to win. If he doesn't will we see Maher stop bashing Trump on his show or will he come around to accept that he is the President and that millions of people support him?

If Biden does win there is not going to be American Loving, Freedom Loving Trump supporters rioting in the streets. We won't see that until Harris/Biden starts implementing their Far Left agenda that will violate our Rights and turn law abiding citizens into felons.

Bill Maher? I hope he gets to eat his message of Peace on election night.

If Trump wins, I hope you're not the proprietor of a downtown general store.

It's getting burned and looted.

Republicans tried to do that for more than 50 years, from the "atomic Daisy" commercial onwards. No luck, the Democrats kept pouring on the smears and lies without stopping. Blocking all Republican initiatives whenever they had the power to do so, and blaming Republicans for the results and pouring on even more lies.

The Republicans responded for decades by being nice guys, trying to compromise, not replying in kind, etc. etc.

Finally about 2010, they'd had enough. Republicans with cameras pushed their way into a room where Democrats had been making plans for government in a "closed" meeting, no R's invited, and the Republicans showed what they were up to. It's been accelerating ever since.

Democrats caught the worst of it, more and more. They didn't change their tactics, except to cry and wail about Republicans using their own tactics against them... and starting to lose hand over fist. And when an new, gunslinging sheriff (Trump) was finally brought in, for the express purpose of knocking over the Dems' house of cards (incl. the media), it turned into a rout, with the Dems doing the sauve qui peut routine as more and more disasters befell them.

Yes, I agree that Republicans and Democrats would be better off making peace. Too bad only one party has been trying to do that for the last few generations, and the other kept shafting them every chance they got.

Now the trembling Bill Maher wants Republicans to trust the Democrats' good intentions and willingness to treat them right? As far as Republicans can tell, the Dems have no such good intentions, and never had any. And Republicans would simply be cutting their own throats (for the 467th time) if they even tried such a thing.

Too bad Democrats didn't keep that in mind for the last 50-plus years. Should have been careful what they wished for.

We could do with a breather from this constant political conflict. It never resolves anything; just a constant cluster f***.

The Democrats want to shred the Constitution and destroy our Constitutional Republic, turning this nation into a socialist aristocracy of which it was never intended to be. No way in hell should we make peace with them. If we do they'll destroy us. They're already threatening to pack the courts, grant statehood for DC and Puerto Rico, end the filibuster and electoral college. It will finally be one party rule which is their ultimate goal. Any and all legislation will be passed by a simple majority and rubber stamped by the courts.

They've labeled anyone who disagrees with them as racists, xenophobes, homophobes, bitter clingers, deplorables, trailer park trash and any other derogatory name they can think of. Make no mistake about it these people are not our friends. They're just trying to lull us into complacency. Once they achieve that they'll walk all over us and stomp us into the ground.

Constitutional Republic:

A Constitutional Republic is a form of government where the head of state and other officials are elected as representatives of the people, representatives mandated to govern according to existing constitutional law. It is because of this mandate that the elected class in a Constitutional Republic is limited in their power over the citizenry. The United States of America was created as and intended to survive as a Constitutional Republic.

Our Constitutional Republic is separated into three separate but equal branches of government; the Executive, Legislative and Judicial, represented by the Presidency, Congress and the Courts. Because of this no branch has a rein on absolute power thus assuring that there will be checks and balances to the governmental system and protection for the rule of law.

Through the elected representation employed by our Constitutional Republic the influence of the majority is tempered by protections for individual rights as mandated by constitutional law. Our form of government is deliberate in its attempt to thwart majoritarianism, thereby protecting political dissent and individuals and minority groups from the "tyranny of the majority" by placing checks on the power of the majority of the population. The power of the majority of the people is checked by limiting that power to electing representatives who are required to legislate with limits of overarching constitutional law which a simple majority cannot modify.

"A pure unbridled democracy is a political system in which the majority enjoys absolute power by means of democratic elections. In an unvarnished democracy, unrestrained by a constitution, the majority can vote to impose tyranny on themselves and the minority opposition. They can vote to elect those who will infringe upon our inalienable God-given rights. Thomas Jefferson referred to this as elected despotism in Notes on the State of Virginia (also cited in Federalist 48 by Madison):"
