"The all-Republican court denied the request without an order or opinion, as justices did last month in a similar lawsuit brought by some of the same plaintiffs."

It's good to see that the courts are holding up the rights of states and people.

That was a state court reaffirming its prior decision. It is still being heard by a Federal judge who can overrule the decision.

Republican judiciary members usually operate in accordance with the law.

Liberal judiciary members are more apt to play favorites.

I don't see why it should be in any lower Federal court.

The ballots are a state matter. The state supreme court has decided. Shouldn't it go to the US Supreme Court after that?

Hopefully Andrew Hanen will think carefully about the voters who have already voted. We also need Greg Abbott and Ken Paxton to comment on the lawsuit asking the same question before the federal district court.

It shouldn't be in any federal court at all as the constitution is VERY clear that the states decide. However Trumps SC justices have been arguing that the federal government CAN step in if the claim is that the state government isnt following their own rules.

Its a mix here, on one hand we dont want a state government ignoring its own rules for political power at the federal level. On the other...the constitution is VERY clear. That its VERY much a state level issue.

Well, let's be honest. Trump's agenda is a liberal big-government. Liberals would be proud. So it's no surprise he wants the federal government to own these decisions--- no matter what the Constitution says.

The Texas Republicans are infighting. It's fun to watch

Two factions, Chamber of Commerce, pro business regular republicans. And the other kind that thinks Donald Trump was sent by God and Rapture can't be far behind. Tea partiers are too liberal for these people.

Wonkette has a piece on the suit filed by crazed natural medicine practitioner Dr. Steven Hotze. He has gotten lots of free press on Dan Patrick's radio stations.
