They should really allocate electoral votes based on a percentage of the popular vote each candidate gets, which would be the fairest representation of the will of the people.
Yep, he got screwed over a couple of times now. If'ing I were a fan of his, one of the so called Bernie Bros, I'd be furious at his treatment. I'm mad about it, but not because he's my guy, I don't like people putting their thumb on the scales for people like that.
He took the abuse and fell right back in line with the Dem party. I guess he's got to do what he's got to do. I guess it's not like he's going to go to the repugs.
I am saying it IS unequal, and by design. It is unequal at that level so that the State's voting power is mitigated to be on par with the rest of the States, so one side cannot dominate by sheer bodies they happen to have.
This EC thing comes up all the time and it's like an umbrella,..you want it or don't when it is raining,..but when it's not, nobody wants to do anything about it. Let's see any party go out of their way to try to abolish it.
The cap on the number of Representatives has created a huge inequity. That was not by design. The Founding Fathers certainly didn't want one state's representative to be charged with representing roughly a million people, while the next state's representative only had to represent half the number. That was NOT the Founding Fathers' design. And that inequity then becomes an inequity in the electoral college. The Founding Fathers supported EQUALITY. And what you are defending is INEQUALITY.
And get over your bs. I have always defended the electoral college. If you can't comprehend that the electoral college is not functioning as it was intended, then you have no place in this discussion.

Just imagine if Trump were to lose how he'd unleash a non stop withering barrage of criticism and insults at Biden and Harris for every misstep, screwup, screwing over of the country and their supporters and every broken promise they make. Not to mention a lengthy list of " I told you so's". If Trump was unphased by everything the left and the MSM threw at him, he'll be just as belligerent and formidable rallying the public against them. Don Rickles would look like Fred Rogers compared to the put downs Trump will direct at them.
They may want to lose to Trump considering the alternative.

You can disagree all you want. But YOU seem unable to grasp facts. The Founding Fathers didn't design a system so that ONE representative in one state represents 1 million people, and ONE representative in another state represents half that. The Founding Fathers designed a system for roughly EQUAL representation. If we don't have EQUAL representation, then we have INEQUALITY. How do they determine the number of electors? It's based on representation. If the representation is skewed, not by design, then the electoral college is skewed, not by design.
If Trump wins big will the Democrats realize that America is not ready or accepting of their push to the Far Left and embrace of Socialism?
If Trump wins will the Democrats return to a more centered position with a lean to the Left or will they continue down the path of making America pay for its past sins and continue their attempts to Fundamentally alter it to bring us more in line with the World order?
If Trump wins will the Democrats start working for America or will they continue their subversion of it?
There is no Democrat Party - it has been absorbed or has morphed into what some call Democratic Socialists - some just call them Leftists and few openly call themselves Socialists or Marxists.
As to what goes forward - I doubt this toothpaste can be stuffed back in the tube.
I say this mostly because the Elected Democrats are too afraid of these Leftist to even call them out for the Chaos, Riots, Burnings, Looting, Cop Killing and Violence. They are SILENT for the most part.
That indicates to Normal People that IF the Leadership in these Democrat run Cities and States refuse to stop them, they have just given in to them.

Both Parties and ALL Citizens have some serious choices to make - One thing is sure ....

I said that earlier,. This argument comes up all the time yet no administration R or D, does anything when they get in office. It just doesn't even come up.
I never disagreed that it sucked. It just Is what it is. If States want to game the system by flooding their State with bodies , I don't think that's fair either. I don't think it's fair that fly over states( I am from NYC, btw), get the derision and dismissal that they do either.
Out of the whole thread, only Brennan2323 #78 even tried to come up with an alternative. Which I find pretty good start.
