KEY POINTS
“We’re not going to control the pandemic,” Meadows said during an interview on CNN. “We are going to control the fact that we get vaccines, therapeutics and other mitigations.”

More than 224,000 people have died from the virus in the U.S.

The country reported more than 83,000 cases two days in a row on Friday and Saturday as health experts warn of a difficult winter ahead.

Clearly they have bought into that nihilistic Trumpian philosophy of letting it run rampant and just treating the survivors.

He is correct, there is no way to control Covid. We just need to let it run out.

Very sad time for the country.

Still no plan. Couldn’t be honest to citizens of this country and never implemented an effective testing plan.

Now thinks we trust him with a vaccine?

There is no controlling it, we can only manage it. We can try to avoid catching it by limiting our exposure and practicing clean habits but even then it can infect you. I live in Mass. and we have pretty much been locked down since the start, we all wear masks, social distance and wait in line to enter stores yet people are still catching it.

Meadows is just speaking the truth.

Biden and his fellows think they could have handled it all differently but what would they have done?

It is impossible to shut down Americans the way people have been shut down in European countries.

We need to protect the elderly and people that are more susceptible to illness due to underlying issues and we can all practice common sense to avoid the virus.

Politicians will not keep us safe be they Reps or Dems.

Exactly. We cannot hide from a virus.

Try again. Sweden tried that. For all of a month, if that long. Turns out the old people just don't want to stay home! Or not socialize. The restrictions on those over 70 were lifted last week. What you wrote (the bold) is nonsensical. Unworkable. Unenforceable.

Want truth? The REAL problem is HOW to keep those who are elderly and more susceptible from overwhelming hospital beds. Let them die, sure, but don't hog a bed while doing it. THAT is reality. There are also some other inconvenient realities ...

The vaccines that's Meadows talked about? Not here yet.

True, but we can take prudent measures which Trump, Pence and team are intent on disregarding the most basic protocols that they have previously touted. What they don't care about is that millions of Americans simply can't afford to get sick; they can't get or have any expectation of getting the care the WH team gets. Instead, they will be going bankrupt paying medical bills. If there is a health plan for these folks, let's hear it now. But we know, there is no plan other than let many die, many get sick, many go bankrupt. That's the GOP plan. Its a plan of despair and death.

Sweden is currently #17 on the worldometers death per million lists. They keep moving down. The US is #10 and we keep moving up in spite of our masks and restrictions.

This is incorrect and slanted. Other countries have controlled its spread much more successfully. We rank near the bottom with Brazil, Peru, India, etc.
