In a land before the 24 hour news cycle and the ever present social media nonsense, people went to rallly's, town halls, and fundraisers to hear the candidates speak. To learn about their plan for their office and to support them. While not as necessary as before, rallys give candidates the opportunity to speak directly to the people they want to vote for them, and it gives the people at large a better chance to really see what the candidate is about.
For example how would we know that Trump thinks Covid has all but disappeared if not for the rallys
How would we know that Biden supports Barakethcar if not for the rally
Plenty people are extra. I’ve been to two rallies. One was over 10 years ago. At the other, I was invited by a friend and was undecided at that point. It was alright. It didn’t sway me. I only made my decision after reading and considering the issues.
But people can attend what they want. These days, many people are simply fanatics.
“Lefty chick doing primal screams in a parking lot ...”
Rolf. That description tickled me, ambient.
I wish we could find out whatever happened to that poor conflicted soul. If Trump being elected didn’t ruin her life, being the brunt of a million memes over the past four years surely must have.
