Americans lead insular lives, not knowing much about the rest of the world, and not caring they don't know much, either. This problem is particularly profound amongst Republicans, who have tuned out of even the mainstream media and instead rely solely on right wing sources, many of which peddle distortions and disinformation as "news".

Climate change affects us all. Trump is leading a scorched earth policy, trying to immolate the planet before he dies, while his loyal supporters cheer themselves hoarse. It shows the horrifying power of propaganda on scientifically illiterate people.

Americans are merely killing themselves with COVID-19 but with climate change they will kill us all. We’re depending on the dumbest people in Pennsylvania for our future, which is infuriating. How dare you.

Americans have tried ignoring medical science, and it has not gone well for them, but ignoring climate science will go badly for everyone. This is seriously on the ballot this Tuesday. Our Earth. Does America want to hit the gas and Thelma and Louise off the climate cliff?

The entire world is stuck, screaming duct-taped in the trunk. All around the world, people will have to watched the rigged board game you call a democracy to see whether we have a future or not.

To be fair, most people in the big cities don't realize that life actually happens in rural America. You can complain about us not caring about Europe all you want, but please. Most of the liberal big city elites don't give a rip what happens in western Nebraska.

As for you thinking we should care more about climate change? Until we see China stop polluting on an obscene level, nothing we do will make a difference. So why should we destroy American lives for no reason?

The guy in Sri Lanka needs to be much more worried about India and China than us.

China is already leading in renewable energy production figures. It is currently the world's largest producer of wind and solar energy, and the largest domestic and outbound investor in renewable energy. Four of the world's five biggest renewable energy deals were made by Chinese companies in 2016.

I always find it very interesting and at times amusing how people can view things in such totally different ways.

Of course calling people "dumb" never gets ones argument very far.

We all have our unique perspectives on life etc.. Mine is not so "insular" and family and friends in Europe are rooting for and against Trump. They are not dumb they just have different perspectives.

Climate change shouldn't have ever become a political issue, but Democrats moved it that way in order to get votes because that's all they care about. Power and votes.

The reality is that if climate change is as bad as scientists are saying then we are past the point of no return. We could go back to the stone age and still not reverse the damage. It won't matter how much we move away from fossil fuels anyways as long as South American keeps destroying the Amazon rainforest.

Sorry, couldn't resist the Letterkenny Problems saying. lol

I disagree with the whole "if Billy won't stop why should I?" thinking, Billy = China. Using less fossil fuels is a good idea(not eliminate but use less), we simply don't have the technology to do so in less than 5 years and possibly in 20 years.
Haven't seen an electric tractor or combine add yet, for us "fly-over" states.

Trump's irresponsible rhetoric has also enabled dictators and persecution in more third world countries.

I will be glad to see that come to an end.

Yet, they still pollute at a might higher level than us.

It's a reasonable point, though. Please explain why American lives should destroyed when other countries are doing nothing.

As for electric tractors? That's because electric tractors aren't viable. Real tractors need gas or diesel.
