The nation has always been divided. I mean,. Obviously since there are winners and losers in elections, what Has changed is that we are at each other's throats over it.

If we don't change ourselves we can't expect candidates to change.

Whoever gets elected will it really make that big a difference in the day to day routine? The sun will still come up tomorrow, the sky won't fall, seasons will continue as this is a great nation and there is absolutely nothing whatsoever that will ever change that. And we finally had a big voter turnout. So really no cause for concern and everyone will live happily ever after anyway.

I say this all the time. Those old politicians ain't in my livingroom helping me sort bills and helping my kid with math. lol.

And yes,..I am happy there was such a huge turnout. It makes it feel more fair and accepting. Don't start with the EC!

The Founding Fathers would be proud of the turnout after putting in all that time, effort, and energy establishing a solid foundation with which to grow this strong nation. The spirit Of '76 lives on.

I respectfully disagree. What has changed our country so drastically was Donald Trump’s constant nasty discourse. He has divided our country into two parts. The sad part is that he likes it that way.

I won't defend his crass behavior, but I just don't like passing blame for individual's actions on someone else. Half the Country voted him in . They were like the way they were before him and just gravitated to him as a voice. He is a symptom. Now,..I am not gonna tell almost half the Country they are wrong. It's their vote.

Biden got the votes this time for a go at it. If there was never a Trump period, I don't think that half of the Country would be any more 'united' . We will see now how Biden can unite or continue the divide.

And all the drama that will ensue from now on will be blamed on the Right fighting him, no different than what we went through the past 4 years from the Left.

You people need to relax. Joe “basically a modern republican” Biden’s going to be about as moderate as you can get. Once elected, most politicians turn more moderate.

Yes, we have always been divided but not necessarily at each other's throats about it. What did happen was in 1987, the FCC Fairness Doctrine was eliminated. This gave rise to Rush Limbaugh, Howard Stern, and others. It has since morphed into Fox News, Tucker Carlson, and Sean Hannity. If QAnon and BLM wanted to start spewing their party lines on the air waves, they would only need to find a network willing to broadcast.

While I am no Trump fan, this far precedes him and likely gave him the idea that he can be such an unbridled ******* without having to give air time to a competing ideology.

Yeah. I think we're pretty much screwed. All the wrong things being done for all the wrong reasons.

Throughout History there has been amazing empires that have fallen and it was mostly due to the rot from within. America has been living on borrowed time as it is and we may have reached the end.

Biden/Harris are poised to fundamentally alter America as we know it and millions of people are ok with that.

Their campaign pledges were not America First.

They would.
Tax us all more.

Ban Fracking and Coal.
Create new States.
Stack the Supreme Court.
Abolish the Electoral College.
Grant Amnesty to at least 11 million Illegal Aliens.
Hand Free Healthcare to Illegal Aliens.
Open up the border by offering a pathway to citizenship for dreamers.

Lock down the country to stop Covid while making the cure worse than the disease.

Mend the red tape on regulations to stop progress.
Restore the US in to certain world groups that take but give little back such as the Paris Climate Accord.

Confiscate guns by banning certain ones.
Allow criminals to not be responsible for their actions while holding Police accountable for theirs.
They would disband and Defund Police Departments.

As evidence from the encouraged riots that plague many Democrat run cities, Law and Order is not a top priority but catering and pandering to Far Left terrorist groups such as antifa and BLM is.
The Green New Deal.

The rush to some sort of democratic socialism.

There are so many more pledges, ideas and schemes that the Democrats are poised to drop on us. It is amazing that more than half the country approves of these schemes that chip away at our Rights and will fundamentally transform America into something it was never meant to be if implemented.

Has America as a whole lost its common sense?
Have the People been brainwashed by the propaganda machine known as the mass media?

Do the American People really want such drastic changes to our Nation?

The Democrat platform could spell the end for America.
In my mind, it has just been a matter of time for a long time--at least 15 years. Of course, I have hoped for as long a "life in America" as possible, but I held no hope that it would go on forever, given the political/social climate in this nation that has been darkening for a long, long time.

At this point, it will be back to the same strategy that got me through Obama's reign--buck the increasingly socialistic system as much as possible, find workarounds, and insulate myself from society at large as much as possible. But, I don't know how long that is possible now for anyone who believes in individual liberty (the real kind, not the pop drug culture crap).

We have half the nation shooting for individual subjugation/collectivism and the other half shooting for individual liberty/free-market (and a couple of other smaller groups). To tell you the truth, I really wish the nation would split: collectivists in their own kingdom and individualists/free-market in another. No way that is going to happen though, short of some major catastrophic event. So... just disappear into the national woodwork. Be invisible. Make yourself appear to be not worth the collectivist's effort.
