2024 may very well come down to this if Trump is still healthy and not having any legal or indictment issues by then

I disagree.

I think (hope) that the Republicans have learned their lesson about electing 70-somethings to the White House, and after the unpopularity of Trump, I think most conservatives will rally around someone with much more appeal to most conservatives.

I think that people forget that Trump won through attrition. In March 2016, he was polling only about 30% approval.
