I sure hope they lock us down. If when this all started we would have simply locked down the country for three weeks and paid out money to everyone, including small businesses, this would be long over by now.
I guess we can wait for the new vaccine at this point. Trump got hundreds of thousands of Americans killed.
simple solution, from a simple mind. the issue is more complex, but i see your not up for the task.
Your link does not support its own sensational clickbait title.
The man has been saying for a while that we should lockdown, except now he could have the power to force it : https://www.foreignaff

If I remember correctly rstevens is retired with a government pension that he gets no matter what happens. So whether you lose your business or house or whatever because of government lockdowns really doesn't affect him. In short, he is panicked, cares only about "the virus" and if you suffer for his safety/feelings so be it.
explains a thing or two....i believe most lockdowners are in a position where it does not matter to them. which is pretty annoying. they cry about covid, yet could really care less about the world or people being completely ruined. and assume the government will bail us out. newsflash: the amount of money to bail us out of round one of this mess is astronomical. not to mention the vaccine freebs, unemployment, etc. throw in another freeze and well, you do the math, if you have a scientific calculator

Didn’t know that about him, but it explains a lot. Where I live, I am surrounded by “work” at home government employees with secure jobs or retired government employees with secure pensions. They will remain in excellent financial shape, so a lockdown is no skin off their nose.
problem is, its going to be a halfarse lockdown, and do nothing but kill businesses .....why dont people understand we cant stop a virus!!
Even in a strict lockdown about 20% of society remains functional as "essential" services. We can't completely lock down for months because people need to live. They need food, they need utilities, they need medical care, etc.
At what cost? Until that is known no success can be claimed.
