By March, the gravity of the coronavirus pandemic appeared to have set in at the White House. President Trump’s regular briefings on the deadly virus had for some time been breezy, dismissive of the threat it posed. But Trump’s claims that all was well in hand were proving false.

When the White House first decided to forcefully address the pandemic, it set expectations that the death toll wouldn’t pass 240,000. Perhaps it wouldn’t have if the administration had continued to decide to try to limit the virus’s spread. But the White House, and Trump in particular, largely gave up on that fight.
The result is that, by its own standard, its efforts have failed.

Well - how about blaming the states instead of the WH - Cuomo has had us in lock down since March - which you know s I've said it multiple times. I just watched another video of a restaurant having to close it's doors in the town I live in. Had Pelosi voted for the relief package - maybe it could have limped on until this thing is over.

Then we have Cuomo shutting down bowling alleys, restaurants and gyms. Restaurants can serve drive up only after 10 pm - as if Covid becomes more dangerous after 10 pm. And for Thanksgiving - they are limiting the amt of people a family can have. we have to sit 6 ft apart - wear masks and bring our own plates and silverware.

What's this going to do - you'll see a rise in prices in the grocery stores which has already started due to manufacturers not selling their products to restaurant distributors - affecting all those of lower income who can't afford to go out to restaurants - so I don't believe the Federal Govt is your enemy - only your state governments.

I have noticed that mask mandates seem to be driving up the number of cases, right now where we are, numbers are higher than ever, and mask mandates are fairly new. Numbers dropped, masks were mandated, and now the cases are higher than ever.

It is a "virus" doing what a "virus" does. I do wonder how many cases are actually the seasonal allergies, and seasonal flu. Not much talk of the seasonal flu this year, and it basically disappeared as soon as COVID 19 arrived in the USA. Symptoms nearly identical, testing accuracy for both viruses isn't good, about 30% for COVID 19 and 40 to 60% accurate on influenza.

MSM is not one's best source of information, nor the CDC who is in bed with Big Pharma.

The Virus is doing it's thing and sweeping around the world.

Our Govt or any other around the world can do little to stop it.

I don’t see how hiding in a basement is a good strategy. People need to live their lives and whatever happens, happens.

2.8 million people die each year in the US. But somehow, we are hyper focused on just 240k of them?

Also, average age of Covid death is 76.9 years old, according to Forbes.

Are we 100% certain that people are dying of Covid as opposed to dying with Covid?

Because no single state can succeed alone in controlling a pandemic without closing its borders. When something affects the nation as a whole, it really is upon the federal government to lead. And Trump LITERALLY led his people into refusing to treat this seriously or wear a mask. Repeatedly sabotaging the efforts.

Heck he had massive in person rallies where people didnt wear masks except behind him.
