Read the OP and tell me where the evidence is that a 4-6 week lockdown will control the pandemic and revive the economy. Australia doesn't provide it.

and what if that doesn't work? Will we then lockdown for another 4-6 weeks? Then another?
We're already in a virtual lockdown. Here in Calif. the restaurants don't have indoor dining anymore only take-out or outside dining with social distancing in place. The movie theaters are closed again. We have to wear masks to enter a public building and they have little spots for us to stand on for social distancing. What more of a lockdown could we have?

Ask people how non essential business shutdown helped them back in March/ April.

If it would have worked then they would have had no more COVID cases and would not still be under a mask mandate.

And despite all those restrictions, we are STILL set to hit 1 million Covid cases tomorrow: that's more than the entire population of several states. I am predicting that Newsom will use that one million mark to order another Shelter In Place order tomorrow (similar to what we had in April with all non-essential businesses, state parks, beaches, trails closed), extend the mask mandate to anytime you step outside (including getting your mail) and ban any type of interaction with anyone outside your household unless it's a business transaction. He will start ordering law enforcement to issue $1,000 citations for violating those mandates: but of course, they will only enforce in upper income communities where people are law abiding and can afford to pay those fines. If you live in a neighborhood that's classified as upper income, the cops will ticket you for stepping outside to grab the mail without a mask, stopping to talk to your neighbor while walking your dog (even if both of you are wearing masks), and there will be a hot line to report anyone who has guests over but the cops will only go to the homes of upper income neighborhoods that get reported: they will ignore calls about huge parties in lower income areas and go for fining a well off home just for having one guest over. I am calling for the announcement of this order tomorrow or Friday and it lasting into the New Year so he can try to prevent Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve Parties.

I said that several months ago.

June 26th to be specific.

You tell grocers to double their inventories and report when they have done so.

Then you tell everyone to ensure they have 3 weeks worth of groceries.

You put National Guard units at grocery stores to prevent hoarding. Anyone who throws a tantrum goes straight to the detention center and not only do they forfeit their compensation check, but everyone in their household eligible for a compensation check forfeits theirs, too.

You lock down for 3 weeks. No one leaves their home.

Critical infrastructure like essential medical personnel, fire, police, electric energy infrastructure and telecommunications infrastructure are the only people allowed outside their homes and they won't be staying in their homes.

You rent hotel space, get four volunteers at each hotel to be desk clerks, tell the staff to take a hike and set out linens and towels for 3 weeks.

You contract caterers to feed those people and they live in the hotels, too.

There's no mail, no Amazon Prime deliveries, no streaming, and only taped TV broadcasts.

Anyone who violates forfeits their compensation check as do all eligible persons in the household, plus violators go to detention for at least 6 months but not more than a year.

HUD residents not only go to detention, they get evicted which means they're barred from HUD housing for 7 years.

Anyone on Social Security, Disability or SSI gets their payments stopped while in detention. Those on Social Security will have to re-apply to start their benefits and they don't get "back-pay." Those on Disability and SSI will have to re-file and start the entire process all over.

At the end of 3 weeks, you cut everyone 18 and older a $3,000 check for the patriotism.

Of course, that only works if you close the borders.

If you were on a boat on Lake Michigan and it had a hole in it and you were sinking, would you punch more holes in your boat?

Well, then why would you let people bring STUPID-19 in the US?

Quarantine them on the tarmac. That's what National Guard units are for.
This isn't North Korea.

I say no on the lockdowns. Not because I don't believe they work, but because I don't think enough Americans will comply. We'll kill the economy again and not bring down cases enough to make it worth it.

1) Mask mandate,

2)targeted closures and curfews for group oriented functions.

That's the best we're going to do. In the meantime, expand hospital, ICU, and morgue capacity.

This is the planets way of cleaning itself. We have way too many people and one day a super bug will take a billion + and that really would help out the planet if you really think about it.

The entire point is that USA suffers and China prospers.
