Here is the deal. People will complain about the government, not when there is actual tyranny, but when things don't go their way.

I've been voting Independent before it was "cool" and I'm just sitting back watching people reach the same realization I had for years.

Yup I very much agree with this sentiment OP and it's precisely why I'm such a strong proponent of the American people sending both mega parties into electoral oblivion .

Some of y'all have never been punched in the face for being an a*hole....... and it shows.
In the 1860s Conservatives killed 650,000 people cause they lost an election. In the 1870s they murdered 1000s to retake control of Southern governments from reconstruction governments. In the 1960s Conservatives killed 100s trying to maintain Jim Crow.

But yeah it’s the internet

Sometimes it can indeed suck but sometimes it can be amazing.

For example NASA is an amazing government organization that has helped create massive strides for science and humanity in general.

And look no further then the FAA, which has allowed air travel to be the safest method of travel and allowing the US to have one of the most safest airways in the world.

Progressives drove the US into WWI which was bad. And they did Prohibition but on balance Conservatives have done worse.

Since progressives have also done good things, like Civil Rights, abolition, Social Security, Medicaid, etc.

My bad. “Conservatives are responsible for nearly everything bad and evil in the country, but certainly never anything good.”

Oh, I admitted that sometime back in the late 1990s. The only question since then has been to what degree it sucks under any given regime.
