I would rather every avenue be exhausted than having to hear how the election was stolen from Trump.
Except that Hilary conceded the day after the election and Obama began transition the day after that.

So not similar at all.

Why is this even a thing?

In what twisted world does signing an envelope but not requiring signatures on the actual ballots even begin to make sense?
When someone uses a voting machine, is a signature or other identification recorded anywhere on the machine before a person casts his/her vote?

The votes are being counted.

One with a tradition of secret ballots.

Aren't votes supposed to be anonymous? Signing a ballot would make the ballot not anonymous. Besides 2018 when Republicans in Arizona questioned the mail-in ballots because McSally was losing, Any other election has only seen marginal challenges for votes but those elections are moot at that point because races aren't too close to be called.

Who cares on the number of votes. Where did they find them? Who hid them? Will there be criminal investigation on voter fraud? These paper votes just did crawl into hidden spot themselves.

We're guaranteed the right to an anonymous election.

You don't sign YOUR ballot when you cast it, why should someone mailing one in be forced to do that?

wonders what country i've suddenly woken up in

It doesn't appear anyone purposely "hid" them, or they would still be hidden.

Anyone can permanently hide a thumb drive if they want. These were found.

I'd like to know, too, what incredibly sloppy system let TWO thumb drives that recorded voter's ballots slip through the cracks.

Who designed a system where all flash drives weren't accounted for? And DOUBLY accounted for?

On the other hand, this is a moot point. The hand counting of ballots is coming to an end and that will be the final answer.
