Despite BIG losses in House races, Nancy Pelosi has been reelected by Democrats to be the Democrat leader and Speaker of the House, yet again. If she had any sense of shame, she would have stood aside for someone else to take over the position. Nevertheless, the entire aging House leadership team for the Democrats was reelected, apparently because there was nobody with enough support to contend for those positions.

Pelosi Reelected Speaker By House Democrats Despite House Losses

Nancy Pelosi has been reelected speaker of the House by her caucus for the next session of Congress, marking what will be her fourth term with the gavel. The caucus vote was conducted virtually, but Pelosi was approved with a voice vote.

Pelosi, 80, did not not face any challenge for her post, but she will also need to secure a simple majority — 218 Democratic votes — by the full House of Representatives in January to be sworn in again as speaker. She indicated after the vote that the upcoming term could be her last.
Nancy Pelosi apparently indicated to someone after the vote that this could be her last term in this role. In fact, it appears likely to me that she will retire from Congress altogether after this term, as the Democrats are expected to lose control of the House as a result of the upcoming reapportionment and redistricting that happens after the recently conducted 10-year census.

As a result, we could possibly see some major changes in the House leadership after the 2022 elections.

Nancy does a good job of keeping the Democrats in the House aligned together. She is better at Speaker than John Boehner and Paul Ryan. Those 2 prior Speakers couldn't get the House Republicans to stop splintering and arguing and backtracking and reneging on prior agreements.

Nancy puts both of them to shame. She has a united group of Democrats when it's time to get bills signed. Sure there is negotiation behind the scenes. But when it's time to get bills signed or to negotiate with the other side, Nancy and the House Democrats are united.

Dems lost some seats, but they didn't lose control of the House.

Regardless of party term limits should come in. Sick of the same people hanging around, Pelosi, Feinstein, McConnell, Graham, just get out. You've earned enough, you've got your government healthcare, you've received enough backhanders from insurance companies, time to go.

She also does a good job of blaming Trump for everything. Meanwhile, she paraded in China Town and looked like a dumbass, and had the nerve to brag about her 20K freezer holding more ice cream than most grocery stores. Meanwhile, many Americans were figuring out how to buy groceries, or to even find a supermarket that had chicken and beef in stock. She also looked like a sucker when she did that kneeling stunt. And let's not forget how trigger happy she was to reject every stimulus package that came her way. Because ya know, screw the American people! The airlines that aren't currently operating need more rules put in place for carbon emissions! Yeah, that'll help defeat COVID!!!

Can't wait to hear her BS excuses with Biden once he is POTUS. Hopefully she'll drop dead first.

She's a wily veteran who knows how to stay in power. You might not agree with her, but you've got to respect her political acumen.

Pelosi is going to have to prove it this term. There are still a few races out, about five last I looked. If all of those finish with the current leader winning, then the Democrats will have a 222-213 majority. That means Pelosi can lose a maximum of four votes from her caucus and still pass a bill without Republican help. And that assumes that she votes, which the Speaker of the House typically does not do.

With AOC, Omar, Tlaib and the other radical leftist Democrats in Congress ready to burn it all down if they do not get their way, it appears that Pelosi is probably going to have to let them call the shots, if she wants to pass legislation that Republicans oppose.

Meanwhile, there are a good number of Democrats from more moderate districts who are trying to get the party to wake up and realize that this radical BLM/Antifa/Green new deal type stuff is going to kill party's chances and will end the careers of more moderate Democrats who support this stuff.

We are going to see how good Pelosi is at corralling her caucus over the next two years. For real.
