In 1941, when young Americans were asked to put on a uniform and sent all over the world to defend their country from Nazism and Fascism, they did so without complaint.

In 1950, when young Americans were to asked to put on a uniform and and go to Korea to defend their country from Communism, they did so without complaint.

In 1965, when young Americans were asked to put on a uniform and go to Vietnam to defend their country from Communism, the overwhelming majority did so without complaint.

In 2001, when young Americans were asked to put on a uniform and go to Afghanistan to defend their country from the Taliban, they did so without complaint.

In 2003, young Americans were asked to put on a uniform and go to Iraq to defend their country from Baathism, they did so without complaint.

In 2020, when young Americans were asked simply to suspend barhopping and partying to defend their country from Covid-19, they decided that everybody else's lives were expendable and gave their country the middle finger.

60-70 years ago our leaders were for the greater good and you had less greedy, psychotic sociopaths in leadership positions. It wasn't about a stock price per share. People are now rebelling against quasi-dictatorship.

Those early wars were necessary. We haven't been in a "necessary" war since WW2 most likely. These days its for corporate gain. America has crumbled because our leadership in the public and private sector have crumbled.

This country is a reflection of who has led it.

Still waiting to read why the OP mentioned "barhopping and partying" but not protests.

I agree. The people once respected our government and believed what they told us and that what they asked of us was for the greater good. Over the years the greed and deceit has increased or become more evident or both to the point we have lost faith and many all respect.
