Really a very very simple question. And the answer is also very simple and straight forward.
People really know the question and the answer. At least JMO, most of us.
Politicians also know the questtion and the answer; They just don't want to say it because they will tell people what they either already know and thus look stupid, OR tell those who don't want to know.
Perhaps in this particular pandemic, and until we find a quick, reliable vaccine and implementation,
The answer may be better given first, before you ask the question Ans: Who? When? How Many? will get really sick and perhaps die?
If you understand the answer, then you can ask the question: Gov Santis believes in herd immunity. Wise or Stupid?
It's a stupid move unless there's a vaccine or something else available to drastically slow down the virus' spread.
It's impossible to build herd immunity when the disease is outrunning the immunity. The herd immunity only builds when the disease progresses slowly, as the herd immunity is even slower to develop.
Depending on it for a fast-moving disease like Covid is a recipe for disaster in a state like Florida at this time of year. Within 60 days, how many folks will be going to Florida to escape the winter? I don't know how many that will be, but some are bringing Covid with them, and in Florida's warmth and humidity, Covid flourishes like death orchids.
Actually, covid is much more easily spread indoors, so if people are hanging outdoors like they typically do in Florida, the risk is smaller. The cold weather up north and people spending more time indoors is why the covid explosion. I'm not saying I want people with covid or any other illness to come to Florida. If you are sick, don't be a jerka and just stay home. I don't care how long you have been planning the trip or spent on it. Your fun is not more important than others' health. It's just not the complete story to say covid thrives in heat and humidity.
Ron De Santis is about as bright as the center of a black hole.
That's your opinion and you are entitled to it, but here in Florida, our hospitals are doing just fine. Also, local businesses have the chance to actually...you know...stay in business unlike those in other places. Additionally, kids are able to stay in school and avoid falling behind and depression. I don't agree with everything he has done, but to say he is dumb is just silly. All in all, Florida is one of the states that is doing the best in this whole thing.

Just about every medical scientist thinks it is stupid to think that just allowing people to be infected with the virus is a solution. We have hit peak hospitalizations in the country at around 10%, imagine what it would look like at 70% required to hit herd immunity.
Hard to believe this poll is 50-50.
