You made a false equivalence.

After some a native tribe was 90% killed by smallpox, the 10% who survived did have herd immunity. Because they all had the most natural resistance to the disease.

Unfortunately, the herd immunity wasn't transmitted to their children or others. Those who were immune naturally had no need to be in a herd to be immune either. All alone, they were immune.

They could not catch smallpox, so they could not pass it on, but anyone who was not immune could catch it, and pass it, and die afterward.
In some tribes, there were so few who were naturally immune that there was no tribe left. The survivors were taken in by other tribes, or lived until they died, all alone, as unwilling hermits.
,
But when the smallpox vaccine was found, no one needed natural immunity to be protected. The least vulnerable and the most vulnerable became equal when they were all protected, so the virus had no humans to feed on and died out.
That's true herd immunity. Denying a disease its feeding grounds.

As more people on the planet were vaccinated over several generations' worth of time, smallpox could only prey on smaller and smaller groups of humans, so the virus itself began to shrink in numbers.
When the smallpox virus was finally reduced to one small area, and everyone in that area was vaccinated, the smallpox virus found no one to feed on, so the last living smallpox viruses all starved and died.

JMO,
no really knows yet if "herd immunity" is <100%.
Who, When, and How many? is the answer.

If catching and recovering from the live virus does not grant any immunity then a vaccine with a dead virus wouldn't either.

You're welcome to accept the premise at face value without evidence, which of course you do because it gives you a springboard from which to launch your equally substance-free pot shots.

I prefer to see substantiation of the premise before I accept is as a basis of argument.

Ask Sweden how herd immunity is working for them.

It hasn’t worked for them despite expecting the masses to work from home and mandating social distancing in populated areas.

It also limits gatherings to 8 people, including churches. And no more alcohol sales after 10, when people tend to get a tad sloppy.

And you think I care what your preferences are or what you choose to "accept"? You are free to believe anything you want. I am not here to twist your arm.

DeSantis is being a stupid ass-kisser and the people in this State will pay the price, as we did during the 2nd wave. Florida has handeled this situation very poorly. Like I said FL is #16 in the nation in deaths per million, and #4 in total deaths and we are not even a cold weather State (which are being hammered right now). The snowbirds are on their way down, and already visited for thanksgiving, so we are in for lot of cases in the coming weeks and months.

Mayors are begging for more freedoms from the State, but DeSantis wont even respond to them.

They have learned somewhat from their mistakes, but sadly again find themselves much worse off than their neighbors: 6 times worse than Norway, Iceland and Finland. They were a warning example earlier this year and its absurd people hail them as some kind of success story and try to prove it by comparing them to other totally different countries.

Sweden: 3.3
Denmark: 1.3
Norway: 0.7
Iceland: 0.6
Finland 0.5

And you are equally free to swat at phantom premises, what with that being easier than dealing with reality and all. As long as you don't expect me to do the same, I'm glad we're both clear on where each is coming from.

Florida's total cumulative death rate per 100K is right at the national average, which is better than one should expect from a state with a high part-time population and the second-highest median age. Currently Florida is faring far better than the rest of the country. Take a deep breath, your state will be fine.
