Bans alcohol sales at restaurants and bars for one night. I lived in a county in FL where you couldn't and still can't buy alcohol anywhere on Sunday. Every Sunday. I live in a county now where you cannot buy alcohol on Sunday. Oh, the humanity! So would you say I'm living in a police state? No, I buy my alcohol 6 other days a week. See how simple it is?

Noem is trying to throw out Amendment A which is much different than banning alcohol sales for a single day, but the result is similar... politicians regardless of party that want to throw their weight around and tell people what's good for them. Vote them out of office.

So then what difference does it make to ban sales for one night? Is the government just wanting to hurt retailers?

It's not a legal use of his power. Simply ignore his order. It'll never hold up in court, that's for sure.

Yep.

Anything to destroy local businesses.

How does not selling alcohol for a day prevent COVID?

*crickets*

It's NOT. ABOUT. YOUR HEALTH.

Such blue laws need to go. Remember stopping on a road trip for the night in Georgia and trying to order a beer with dinner at the restaurant next to the hotel. Was just told today is Sunday. OK...what's that got to do with anything?
