Too bad millennials didn't learn their lesson from Dem war pig Obama's example. Obama's legacy: The only president in American history to serve two complete terms with the nation at war.
Also, he was too busy playing celebrity to fight a pandemic. Glad he didn't start a war, he probably would have forgotten about it halfway through and started doing campaign rallies...
Even if your work ethic is good you must admit that there are ALOT of young people in the workplace who miss tons of work, only put in half efforts and use their phones constantly while on the job.
If you do not see this in the workplace then you are willfully ignoring it. Many people my age have a serious problem with young people in the workplace who don’t show up, don’t do their jobs and then demand promotions they have not earned. This issue with younger workers has become a serious problem in many workplaces.
I see the phone issue across age groups so it isn't a millennial thing. Mind you, I have been busted for it. That said I have seen others who are far older than me have the same problem and if not worse than I had it. Also how many people use City-Data over work projects on the employer's dime, especially POC where the demographics are not typically the millennials like me... gimme a break man.
Gen X for most of its existence has been less political than either the millennials or the boomers. At its core however it is a right of center generation. The crazy leftist actions of recent years has made Gen X more politically active. I do agree with you that there is a libertarian streak in Gen X. However I strongly disagree with you about millennials having a libertarian streak.
Millennials are a leftist generation with both Marxist economic beliefs and left wing social belief. They are prone to trusting in government to make things happen for them. This is the opposite of what most Gen X and baby boomers believe in.
Baby boomers and Gen X have their differences too but both generations grew up during America’s good times before the digital age and that makes them different than today’s two younger generations. They also grew up at a time when there was a shining example of the evils of socialism in the Soviet Union, a place President Reagan called “the evil empire”. Today’s younger generations only see free stuff and “everyone will be equal” when they consider socialism. Those of us who are older remember the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact countries. The older generations are also more religious and traditionally minded than are young people. In my church there are very few people under 40 who attend. This speaks volumes about the generational divide in America.
We don’t have a generation gap anymore.....it’s a generation canyon.
There are a number of libertarian Millennials though. I know a number of them. They may not be Libertarians but they are Paul libertarian leaning Republicans. I saw it in college, I see it with high school friends in my senior class, I even see it in my own family. Are there liberal and even progressive Millennials, yes. But what i am saying is there are a good number of live and let live Republicans in the millennial cohort.
Here is the thing, the younger generations won't think they screwed this country up at all. This is exactly the direction they want to take it. A country that is global, with virtually non existent borders. One where everyone is equal, no rich , no poor. A country where races that have been oppressed for decades can be lifted up. A country where everyone is free to be the gender they want. A country with free healthcare and free tuition. A country that helps the oppressed in other countries. A country without firearms. A country full of peace and love.
I can't tell whether or not you think this is a bad thing. It sounds to me like you are describing a better place than the country we currently live in, and I'm not a millennial.

Newsflash, the world is globalized. The genie is out of the bottle and will not go back in even if we go through our three wishes. We can either fight it and start stupid trade wars and fight the skid or turn into the skid and hope we can ride it out.

Millennials are living in a time where they realize there wont be job security, nosocialsecurity , and no savings probably and 0% rates probably. Yet they push ahead. Include your sample size to include young millenials who us trying to democratize investmens trading for all and making communication technologies affordable.
You got all of it, fought wars and even then it isnt enough for you.

It's called sarcasm. As much as we want it, or try to make it, our country , our world will never be a perfect place. The faster some people realize, we can't create perfect utopia's the better. Can we do some things better, absolutely. Can we make everyone happy ? Absolutely not.

Sorry, I'm never going to be okay with it, and I've been hoping to ride it out the last 30 years.
