One thing is for certain, this is a generational battle. ... Don’t just assume that youth always wins the day.
But youth always will win, even if it has to be through attrition.
It's not so much a generational battle as an ideological battle, and the ideology centered on liberty happens to be held right now largely by the older and wiser among us.
What they shouldn't underestimate is the appeal of those ideas to younger generations. People make the mistake of expecting that the patterns they've grown accustomed to will continue uninterrupted. As a Gen X person, you can look around right now and understand that isn't the case. These younger people don't get that, yet.
When they do finally understand and find an appreciation for these ideas, it'll be too late. The fist will have drawn tight by that point.
The grumpy old man syndrome in this thread is off the charts.
I’m a proud member of GenX. I don’t resent the next generations. I have faith in their ability to bring humanity back from the abyss. We need them to address the issues that we have been too scared or too stubborn to touch thus far.
They will have good ideas and bad ideas, just like every generation before them. Hopefully the good ones win.

I sincerely doubt they will be able to "bring humanity back from the abyss." Unfortunately, they're far less capable than prior generations, in multiple ways. As I've already posted...
Yes many people got their challenges but they’ve been dealt the worst hand since they were brought here.
I disagree. They've gotten substantial boosts from Affirmative Action, otherwise known as systemic institutional racism against some races to the benefit of others.

Eh. The Baby Boomers got us into this mess. Thinking that you know the way out better than the next generations do seems a bit disconnected from reality.
Ah, the complete hyperbole of the right wing ideologue.
Western Europe has had single payer health care for decades, and everyone can fly wherever TF they want.
Stop with the BS please.
He was talking about the Soviet Union and the Eastern Bloc countries
People living behind the Iron Curtain rarely were allowed to leave their own countries to visit the West. And, yes, people in these countries had to wait in long lines to buy food and clothing.
Conservative boomers get their news from watching the same TV channel all day. Millennials and GenZ experienced growing up in their own respective eras. Boomers only know what it's like growing up in the 60s/70s.
Your experienced but stuck in your ways resistant to new information. Most of you are so bad at the internet your most credible source of information is RW Facebook pages and Tucker Carlson. Most of the stuff they post is easily dissectable and traced back to some QAnon type source.
Generalize much, do you? You don't know what you are talking about? Are you Generation Z or Millennial? If so, that would explain it all.
You are not one to talk about being "stuck in your ways resistant to new information". After all, you only read and watch the MSM and refuse to look at other sources.
Although, I'm surprised to see you admit you keep up with QAnon. I, for one, never bothered with it.
