Biden says he's going to have charging stations become ubiquitous. With 2.8MM miles of roads (Fed #) that means we need stations every 100 miles I'd think. That's 28K stations, plus multiple/station in most places. Do you know what each station costs with installation?
Biden is talking about 50,000 stations being built with federal incentives. He will get them too.

There are a million square miles of prairie that are ideal for windmill and solar farms, and semihabitable. More renewable energy farms = a LOT more jobs and a bigger economy.

Yeah, it will be good to see us start to stop importing goods from China, whose pollution and green house gas output is off the charts. Not to mention the amount of fuel consumed by shipping product 1/2 way around the world. Must start with the low hanging fruit.

Too bad small businesses in the country don't have the ability to attach themselves to the Government's teat in order to survive the way GM does .
All of the major auto companies have been developing EVs seriously for the last five or six years. They understand that oil is not going to be king forever. Smart planning keeps companies in business. Denying that change is coming destroys them.

The Model S Tesla has a range of 400 miles. Plus it's not like you can't run out of gas and be stuck for hours.

There's nothing wrong with wanting less carbon emissions as long as it's not forced on the entire planet with an iron fist... Lead by example and the technology will trickle down.

They could make cars even more aerodynamic to increase efficiency but they are afraid these wouldn't sell....and maybe they wouldn't.

And electricity smells better when you spill it on your pants.

Exactly !!! The shipping industry is responsible for FAR more pollutants than our vehicles. The sheep will virtue signal over their Prius yet completely ignore the fact that all the IKEA , Home Goods, and Pier 1 crap that fills their homes came over on a ship that polluted probably more than they have in their entire life time.

Hate to tell you but oil isn't going anywhere.

Not until you figure out how to make everything else on the planet that petroleum is used for besides gasoline with something else.

Meanwhile, have fun with your EV that's being charged with electricity from a coal fired plant because solar and windmills are never going to be sufficient to run all our vehicles and our electrical grid.
