What kind of fool would vote for any president that didn't put America and Americans first? That's their damn job! We elected them to work for us-not to sacrifice the US for the rest of the world. Same goes for any other nation-why would any leader NOT be accountable to his people to put their interests first?

It goes without saying every country looks after their own interests first, but its stupid to talk to allies like NATO members and say "we're first, and you're second". You gain nothing by spouting such campaign slogans in situations like that.

The four authors said that because the world was becoming less safe for the US and American interests, the country needed a "defense in depth" strategy. Such a strategy requires alliances, international partners who can help the US identify and deal "with global problems where they occur rather than waiting for threats to reach American shores," they wrote.
"Enhancing national security must start with the fundamental truth that the United States cannot protect itself or its interests without the help of others," Mattis and the other authors wrote.
The authors said "America First" was essentially "America alone" and a threat to US interests. They added that the US was "undermining the foundations of an international order manifestly advantageous to US interests, reflecting a basic ignorance of the extent to which both robust alliances and international institutions provide vital strategic depth."
And as to the rest of your statement, I, too, am just dumbfounded.

Back to Uncle Sucker. Guarantee everyone security, pay for most of it, with a half million man army. We had 15 million under arms during WWII. Our enemies are more numerous now.
The NATOes need to pay their own freight, ditto SoKo and Japan. Our budget is busted, another stimulus with $2-3 trillion added debt. You can't do that forever.
