The writer, James Poniewozik, is a television reviewer, but this analysis seem better here. That really is Trump's main talent, playing a superficial role, and having a strong, clever grasp of how to entertain in a way to keep people tuned in. I wonder if most of the people who regularly watched The Apprentice ended up voting for him.

President Trump’s Show Has Been Canceled
The former “Apprentice” host and lifelong media hound dominated the 2016 campaign by knowing what TV wanted. Before he ran for office, Mr. Trump flourished in reality TV, cable news and even pro wrestling, genres that thrive on the same thing he does: conflict. He was a perfect fit for the “You’re fired” ethos of Mark Burnett’s pseudo-business competition because he, like “The Apprentice,” saw competition and fighting as the most productive state of existence.
In the closing days of the campaign, Mr. Trump often said that he couldn’t imagine losing to the likes of Mr. Biden. That is, he couldn’t fathom people choosing the political equivalent of PBS when they got so much razzmatazz from the president.

There's an alternate universe where Trump didn't become a president but played the President in House of Cards...

I voted for Biden....but some of you need to reflect very very hard on how he got elected in the first place but hey....alienate voters by calling them stupid, not college educated, white etc.

Enjoy the Biden years, I frankly think it will be hard sailing ahead for the dems. They go pretty lazy because Trump was such an easy d-bag target that they gave an awful lot of free reign to their fringe.

I generally agree. Biden will be better than what we had, but all Americans should reflect on what swept Trump into office in the first place. The PC/Social justice warrior mentality, combined with a dismissive attitude towards working class white voters will not be a recipe for success against a moderate conservative (not crazy) candidate.

Those of us on the right don't deal in alternate universes. We deal in reality. Reality says that Trump did a pretty good job and would have done a lot better if only the swamp (mainly team D, but also some on team R) were interested in actually working with him.

Add Phoenix.

But they had enough votes to flip all five states.

Acres don’t vote; people do.

And cheaters vote multiple times. Especially when honest people are prevented from monitoring them.

If there was evidence of that, it would be presented in court; not press conferences.
