There has never been "communism" in that country. Not even Socialism. Nothing remotely close.

Because I'm familiar with politics. 40 years ago the president was Liberal Turbay and he was replaced by a conservative Belisario Betancur in 1982. Even though they are from different political parties there were no major changes to the average Colombian. Same with all the presidents after that, including the current president, conservative Duque. Not even "uribismo" has changed the country significantly. I bet you don't even know who these people are.

There is a statistically improbable number of conservatives on the internet that claim to be immigrants from socialist countries lol.

Yes, true...the thought crossed my mind in reading the OP.

Though Colombia has a relatively conservative political culture. I briefly dated a Colombian woman here in the states a few years ago who was a Trump supporter. So they do exist.

Many Cubans in Florida voted Trump because they know what Communism is. I have talked to people who lived in a Communist country where they kill you and jail you for talking about the government in a bad way.

China right now is deprogramming many people to train their thinking toward being a Communist. It is called indoctrination. We have it here today with HATETRUMP TV on many liberal stations who are owned by the globalists. Yes, the masses are being trained to think that Communism is ok. That censorship is ok, that any means to an end is ok. This is now the democrat party ruled by the globalists and communists who want to take over America. Half of America is already won over so check to see what you accept as OK.
