I support non-violent felons being able to own guns. Per Justice Barrett's opinion in another case when she sat on the Court of Appeals, she believes so as well.
seems so simple. per my recollection (clouded by all the ACA whining from the Dems), this is exactly what she said in a dissent.
ir crimes
Presumably, we also support non-violent felons, if not ALL people who have met all terms of their sentence for the crime committed, having the right to vote.

What you say?
I say we are a nation of laws and even when the crime warrants the days of public hangings are over.
But I was responding to the posters statement "I am of the opinion that a freeman is a freeman.
If a person is not in prison, he or she should enjoy all the rights of a free person." So I asked him does he believe that it should apply carte blanche the way he said.

Ha! As if murderers care about breaking a silly law. Murder is already illegal.

Absolutely!

It’s utterly stupid to create a registry of dangerous people rather than keeping them locked up.

Not how much more stupid can we be.

Why do you want a convicted killer out on the loose to begin with? Either he is dangerous or he is not.

If he’s dangerous, keep him locked up.

It blows my mind that you people would think a piece of paper can stop a killer from killing.

It happens all the time. Bail, parole, early release, etc. Parole boards are notorious marsh mellows. I'm in 100% agreement that dangerous violent criminals should never get out. But they do.

We no longer kill criminals. They are free to **** it up for everyone else's freedoms, eh?
I mean, a felon with machining skills and access to a router, vice, micrometer and a mill bit, can make their own semi-auto firearm, in a day.
Every felon out on the streets, would need to have MASTER looking over them 24/7. No exceptions.(Isn't that prison)
You want free healthcare
You want free education
You want free housing
You want free food
You want free transportation
You want a free security detail
You want to be taken care of

That is exactly what prisons are for

Then they are deemed not dangerous. So they should enjoy all the rights.
