You're talking to another tool guy and you've told me nothing I don't already know. Not sure what your ignorant comment is directed at since I never mentioned tools.
And since you're talking cordless tools, I'll tell I don't think we need to or even should make every single consumer item that exists. Our rare earth mines sit idle because China priced them out of usefulness. Might not be the worst thing in the long run.
The only US assembled power tools I know of are from the new Dewalt factory.

I don't buy tools at hardware stores, they carry mostly chinese junk. Cordless tools are the exception.

That's one of the dumbest statements ever. China is responsible for China. The other bad actors, namely the US government and multinationals should be held accountable as well, but they won't be.

I don't love china as much as I hate what the CIA is doing to countries around the world - organize violent protests, drug trafficking, installing democratically elected regime changes because the elected leader will not do the will of the US/CIA.
china just happens to be the flavor of the decade for them.
