You really can't blame the man for distancing himself from the toxic Trump Administration. What law firm in their right mind would want a toady like Barr representing their clients?
Probably too little too late, but Barr clearly sees the writing on the wall.
He said 'To date...' meaning so far. As things are in progress.
They simply read a headline on CNN, thus forgive their ignorance.

Probably trying to get a plan together to stop the government from a hostile takeover by ignorant liberals that are focused on their freedoms as they have become rabid!

“To date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have affected a different outcome in the election,” Barr told the AP.
Trump's comment from the article:
"With all due respect to the Attorney General, there hasn’t been any semblance of a Department of Justice investigation. We have gathered ample evidence of illegal voting in at least six states, which they have not examined. We have many witnesses swearing under oath they saw crimes being committed in connection with voter fraud. As far as we know, not a single one has been interviewed by the DOJ. The Justice Department also hasn’t audited any voting machines or used their subpoena powers to determine the truth," the statement read.
Not quite correct. 50% of REPUBLICANS believe trump won. Most of the country was out in the streets dancing for joy that he didn't
I would contend that the 50% you are describing really are not Republicans in any traditional sense. The are Trumplicans. Trump and his supporters largely rejected any of the principles underlying the Republican platform - or for any other party for that matter.
Trump's collected $170 million from his election fraud scam. That's why he keeps pushing it -- it's a cash cow.
Totally and completely consistent with his long history of being a scammer, a grifter, a con man.
Anyone who donated got scammed.
Trump's "election fraud" scam is a crime. He should be indicted on Jan. 21st.
