I’m crossing my fingers and toes that the various vaccines will be approved by the FDA soon, and the rollout to the general public (not just the most at-risk and frontline workers) will be in full force come late winter/early spring under the Biden administration.

And while not what it should be looking like if our government reflected the will of our people though, thats what we got. Congratulations on pointing out again how our government is representing more of the will of the minority of our people. We all know it. The gerrymandering is done insanely biased towards the Republicans. And you are OK with that? Really?
And here is the thing. Its within the rules we've all agreed too. But I wouldn't be proud of it if you really like the idea of a democracy. But we need to all stay within these rules we've all agreed too, because there really are no better choices then to do that. And Trumps really truly pushed these boundaries. Further then anyone should. Its kinda hard to deny that really. The Senate straight up refusing to hear witnesses? What the heck? Justify it how you will I think a lot of folks everywhere started to realize that we needed to pay attention more. Cause that was straight up gangster.
But I also sort of think that stopping some of the things that maybe Republicans care a lot about that maybe Democrats won't push? Maybe some some moderation? In exchange for some progress? Especially on things that both sides might agree on? How about we fund spacex and Boeing to collaborate on making a asteroid mining effort? With a focus on building a lot of it quickly to minimize per unit costs. This means a ton of jobs, and a lot of new jobs that people can be trained into. Would relieve some of the burden on everyone if there are jobs, and its probably more effective then injecting that into unemployment thats likely to really settle in if we dont make a massive jobs program. Heres one with a massive payoff. Thats not to say we dont need some way for folks to make it, we're going to still need to spend there. But every job or opportunity we make there in that big payoff investment is one less person we are paying unemployment. And the payoff of a effort like this? Zero-G manufacturing? R&D? Materials becoming cheap and readily available?
Or we could all squabble like children being unable to compromise? Lets find some ways to do something fun.

Increasing voter protection laws, dismantling gerrymandering through the courts and increasing the security of our elections. Then creating policies which minimize the effects of climate change as much as possible. Those would be at the top of my to-do list.

Its all going to be built right here. This is about jobs and infrastructure. And a ton of R&D.
Or pick some other jobs project you prefer. But I think we need to find a solution that helps us with this short term for jobs, and has a long term payoff that will probably also create more jobs.
We could just as easily pick all sorts of other projects. But its got to be something we can do, and agree too. Lets find those, and then fight all around it all and find a reasonable compromise. But there really are things we all agree on that we should get done, and then find some way of making things work out somehow. This trench warfare works just as well as id did in earlier wars. Non stop warfare with no progress, and just horror as it drains us as we cant get anything good done because neither side is winning, were just hurting each other. But you also got to understand, we really are in the majority here. But we also kind of get it, we're not THAT much of a majority either.
And this last round? Trump? What the heck. And his insane election fraud nonsense? This has gotten nuts folks. The world is watching this and going "what the heck is going wrong over there??". They're NEVER going to trust us like they have in the past. And the fraud claims lose over and over and over as it turns out...theres nothing there. It is apparent however that Trumps pocketed probably over 100 million into his own personal PAC. And Trumps tried to do some insane stuff. You know it. This has been nuts. And insanely divisive. We need to talk about our mutually agreed upon rules because I think we need to find a way to agree to not do this sort of nonsense ever again. If Democrats treat you the same way they feel thier preferred government should be? Id be terrified. But heres the thing. The Democrats extremists arent running things. They do have a voice, but we're trying to find a way forward on this.
The Republican extremists grabbed your entire party and pulled it way way too the right. And now Trumps holding yall hostage. Whomever breaks ranks gets mean tweeted, and sees thier polling number drop. People are terrified of being the first, or being in the spotlight. Some of them make run for it, maybe a mumble. Others just decide theyve had enough, and walk into the spotlight. Trump mean tweets, and they just take it hoping that in the end history treats them well and they can claim to be the smart ones. Most are just waiting for the moment that suddenly....they all make a run for it. Hoping that if theres enough of them all at once they can run for the winning side.
