We should stay out of it like Trump would want. Not our problem.

there were no camps for x million uighurs. that is a made up, unverified number that is being spread around like a game of telephone.

regardless, the camps that are setup are schools to deradicalize, educate and integrate them.

Everyone by now has familiarity with what the CIA has done with Muslim color revolutions in the former Russian republics, Yugoslavia, and MENA. The US is screaming dirty pool because the Chinese government has gotten on top of the situation. One of the risks of coming down hard on the population is that it does result in riots and an armed uprising. The US has also lost one of its key allies in Turkey which makes it more difficult to run a pipeline of weapons and fighters into Xinjian.

What can the U.S. actually do about the camps?

Outside of complaining through the usual international channels, I don't think there is very much we can do.

We don't have clean hands in this either; Guantanamo is our most notorious camp, but I'm sure there are others that are worse we don't know about.

For sure, we can't go sending in special forces to liberate the camps, as everyone in them would have to be evacuated, and we can't go stomping around on the Chinese homeland expecting to repercussions.

Obama sold the Saudi more than 100 billion dollars worth of war armaments.

easy. the US govt needs to stop spreading propaganda and mind our own business.

our military was bombing the same uighur extremist muslims in afghanistan. now we're crying foul because the chinese are trying to deradicalize them?
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-a...-idUSKBN1FS23S

they are not being put in "concentration camps" (that term is too stigmatized), but deradicalization centers. and it is not in the millions.

btw, france is figuring out that deradicalization is the way to go. go complain about them too, OP.

Will the US step up and do something about the concentration camps in China?

What do you expect US to do? Stick our noses into other countries' cultures and tell them how to run their countries. Who is America to dictate to other countries how to run and govern their countries? We have our own problems in America that we pretend don't exist. Countries that live in glass houses....
