It is legal to reimburse a witness for expenses incurred and time lost. Typically, such costs would be buried in the attorney fee with the attorney disbursing funds to the wittness. The public will never know how much she was paid to perform.

I heard it was a week, but only a day? She is missing her calling as a private eye. That is Sherlock Holmes level work to find out all the doings of a large corporation in just day of temp work.
