In this case, I would agree. I'm getting it to protect myself from everyone else. My mask protected you from me. Since our country can't really figure out masks and social distancing, something that the rest of the world is doing much better at than we are, I'm forced to deal with people that are too self-centered to think about anything but themselves.
But the vaccine protects me from you. I understand that these other people that refused to mitigate the spread will also benefit from me getting the vaccine, but I'm ok with that. I can't protect others from themselves. But I can protect them from me.

Good way to look at it.
If my immunity system can be made to recognize and fight cv19 without having to get the virus, then that's a win. It means I can get back to a more normal life.
I got the flu shot this year, as I do every year. I got the shingles vaccine (2 shots) 2 years ago. I see no reason why I wouldn't take advantage of scientific progress, especially if the risk is in-line with or better than risks of other vaccines.
People would rather argue than learn. Do an online search about CRISPR and learn about the science that makes new drugs and vaccines possible. Or, stay completely ignorant and complain about non-existent conspiracies.
The two who died after receiving the vaccine had deaths due to causes expected to happen in a group of people of that size included in the trial that consisted folks in certain age groups.
Oh, you mean just like the reported covid deaths themselves...

That's called "appeal to authority" logical fallacy. But since logic is no longer taught in schools, few even know what that means. And nearly 100% of America is afflicted with it. Waaaaayyyy to trusting of "professionals" and "experts." Some of the most horrendous mass murderers in history were among the most highly educated.
The number of coronavirus deaths in state figures topped 1,000 earlier this week, and the number stood at 1,150 deaths as of Friday afternoon. But officials with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment revealed during a call with reporters that that number does not represent the number of people who have died due to COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.
Instead, the death figure CDPHE has been providing for weeks is more accurately described as the number of people with COVID-19 who have died — for any reason.

Given a group of tens of thousands of people some are going to die, vaccinated or not. In the Pfizer trial, twice as many died in the placebo group as in the group who got the vaccine.
If the authority has the evidence to support his position then it is not a logical fallacy to use him.

If they are including suicides and accidents and homicides in that figure they are doing it wrong. Remember that COVID-19 is the disease caused by the virus, not just a positive test. If they have the disease they are sick. If they have the disease, are sick, and die, how is it not the disease that killed them?

They were counting people who died of things like alcohol poisoning among other things as covid deaths. Not the coroners, the state health officials. The coroners were the whistleblowers.

The CDC guidelines for death certificates are clear. There is really no reason for anyone to do it wrong except ignorance, and the certificates that are filled out wrong are being identified and changed, which is the reason it hits the news.
