The Trump administration finalized a major overhaul of the asylum system which will take effect January 11, 2021, just nine days before President-elect Joe Biden is set to take office. The U.S. asylum policies have long been open to rampant abuse and fraud. This new regulation put forth by the Department of Homeland Security and the Justice Department will raise the standards for asylum seekers in order to crack down on fraudulent claims.

I hope it sticks! My concern is that this is one of the good things done under the Trump administration that Biden is going to reverse, not because it's a good idea, but simply because he can.

Biden and the Democrats want more future Democrat voters. They want to import more economically dependent lower class as they can as they will be grateful to the Democrats for supporting them. The liberal left consists of many bleeding hearts also that think we should allow anyone and everyone to come here and be the flophouse and employment agency to the whole world's poor and needy. Biden and the Democrats are playing up to that base also. Cheap, foreign labor is another faction that both parties are guilty of exploiting for profit.

All for show. Why were they not 'hard' on fraudulent claims before this ?

The 'rampant abuse' claim is a claim......That's like saying folks have been doing things illegal and now we won't let them ...lol
