I was reading an article somewhere that said this or that celebrity is completely deluded/egocentric.
The thesis of most of these arguments is that rich people have everything so they have no right to complain. If they do they are out of touch with reality.
Most of you may agree, in fact many of you may be bitter about your lot in life, or how hard it has been.
Take away everything from a person, leave them with nothing. Then look towards a wealthy socialite who has a mansion, family, and everything a living person can ask for.
Logic assumes that the latter has no right to condemn the other. That the rich and wealthy should feed on their own goods and never complain.
But that is not human nature. Leave a wealthy aristocrat in their mansion, and watch how empty their lives feel. And the moment they wish to complain or change their way, the poor folk tell them to shut up and be happy. If a wall street investor were to say "life is hard" they would be harassed by poor folk who think their lives are so much worse.
So what happens to the rich folk? They are miserable in silence. It festers and grows. They sit in their homes, and slowly lose the spark of life, the joy of life. Empty husks just looking for a purpose in life, hoovering around one fundraiser or another for some charity they have never heard of before.
And the middle class, they scorn these people and call them foe.
But... perhaps this is why the country can not move forward. If the rich folk do not have problems of their own, then they are not part of society. If they are not part of society, then we are divided. And divided we fall.
So what is it that they lack? Well let me tell a short story. In my lowest moment, I thought I was trapped (physically) and that I may never see my home again. It was a sad and miserable moment. But even then, I had an undying will to live. I prayed to god (of which I have none) that if I could see home again, that I would do anything in repayment.
But among the ultra rich, those with everything, they have one thing to lose. The will to live.
So do not lecture or scowl at them when they complain about life, because they have as much reason as you do if not more.

money means nothing...........as long as you have enough........
Personally, I don't see that the rich have done much of anything to me, one way or the other. The idle poor on the other hand? Well, they've been commandeering a portion of the hours of my life since I was old enough to find a job. So you tell me, who should I be quivering with indignation at, the rich or the poor?
The scorned feel victimized. No surprise there. But when the wealthy as a group spend a lot of their influence and resources to withhold tax liability, a very toxic circumstance is bound to develop.
It’s really simple actually; Maslow's hierarchy of needs. If your lucky and find your self near the top, yet find it hard to reach the coveted top tier, don’t expect those farther down who can’t even conceive of attaining the pinnacle, of having much sympathy for your plight.
Your speaking mostly of social pressures, which are substantial measures of a successful existence. This is where the wealthy have one very BIG advantage; they have many masses around them, they can observe and be thankful they are not. And if you object to the social structures at the higher end of resource rich society, move to change it, or leave it. You likely have the education and resources to even give it a try. If your ostracized, unsettle their spaces. Establish a homeless shelter in neighborhood. You’ll get their attention..

Neither.
But the poor hound the rich too much without fully understanding their situation.
However if the poor saw the rich as versions of themselves facing similar troubles, there would be more unity in the country.
The rich are a necessary part of a healthy culture. Yes they can be annoying at times with the level of clout some of them have but all the major technological innovations start in the hands of the rich and trickle down over time. These startup companies wouldn't have gotten off the ground floor if we didn't have a class of people who have substantial capital to fund them.
Communism is not the answer to the problem... striping the wealth of the rich because people are jealous and want something for nothing. Gotta think long term and strategize on this one.
As others have pointed out many socialist nations in Europe have a regressive tax system where the bottom pay more.
In the end I think the US system is fine. I might support single payer but I don't support UBI or paying people to be parasites or wiping out their debt and irresponsible life choices. Work or go hungry. You got into debt? Pay it off or file bankruptcy. The system is not completely automated enough yet to simply pay people to exist. Maybe in 25 or 50 years...
What is it they lack? Understanding, wisdom, experience and compassion. If they had these, they cold not continue the never ending quest for more and more wealth.
Yes they have problems of their own. Their separate society is the most messed up disaster I know of. A huge percentage of them fall prey to drugs, alcoholism, cults, insanity. I happens when you have nothing to strive for or hope for and you realize your life and you separate society are completely meaningless in the world. Your sole purpose is to entertain people, not only through conventional forms of entertainment, but by putting your messed up personal life on view.
I pity them, but I do not respect them or care about their viewpoints. The majority have no knowledge of the real world, just some fantasy worldview based on what their equally vapid social circles adhere to. There are a some exceptions of course. There always are. No generalization is ever accurate.

in other words...Life is like a crap sammich..The more bread you have the less crap you gonna eat!
