Yeah but at the beginning of the long line they didn't give PHDs to people claiming glaciers were sexist (this is real)

"Glaciers are key icons of climate change and global environmental change. However, the relationships among gender, science, and glaciers – particularly related to epistemological questions about the production of glaciological knowledge – remain understudied. This paper thus proposes a feminist glaciology framework with four key components: 1) knowledge producers; (2) gendered science and knowledge; (3) systems of scientific domination; and (4) alternative representations of glaciers. Merging feminist postcolonial science studies and feminist political ecology, the feminist glaciology framework generates robust analysis of gender, power, and epistemologies in dynamic social-ecological systems, thereby leading to more just and equitable science and human-ice interactions. Dr. Henry Kissinger is another one. I think it's especially appropriate to use the title when it's connected to the person's profession, such as introducing the professor who is going to deliver a lecture. She does plan to continue with her teaching career so it makes sense to use the title. The issue here, of course, is that she is a woman. We women are supposed to be dumb, remember?

The answer is that a JD is equivalent to a masters. A doctor of law is a higher and separate degree. I think there is another doctor of law degree, more obscure, that is also considered an advanced degree.
In law school some professors are called doctor if they have the appropriate degree.
No. JD is a Doctorate degree - Doctor of Jurisprudence.

First off I've never seen or heard her demand to be called 'Dr.'

She's bestowed the title based on the level of academic achievement obtained. For those that honor titles, great- you can call her Dr.

If you don't- great. You can call her 'First Lady'.

The problem comes when one gets a JD and thinks it equates pay as a doctor (or Ed.D.!). It don't.

For purposes of pay step, a JD is a masters in the Chicago Public School system.

Personally, I don't think that anyone with an Ed.D. or a D.D. should be addressed as 'doctor'. Someone with a Ph.D. could be called doctor but it is a stretch. Compare Dr. Phil, Dr. Joyce Brothers, Dr. Ruth and Dr. J!

Finally, the term Esq. is like calling someone an 'earl'. It is a male specific term but female lawyers seem to love to roll with it. That's misplaced.

As to Ms. Biden, why take this occasion to split hairs? Call her 'Dr. Biden' and quit fooling around.

Nowhere in the entire WSJ op-ed was there any indication whatsoever that it was problematic to insist on people calling a person by Dr. would not apply equally to men.

But this exposes the woke crowd who libel the country as systematically racist without evidence, this reading between the lines when there's nothing there is rooted in extreme feminism
