c'mon, i can't be the only one who watched big bang theory. ya know, where EVERYONE is a doctor except the engineer
Howard is such a loser....
Also it must be remembered that many call him Dr. Martin Luther King and he was not an MD. So there if anybody really cares about this you can argue about that one as well
Anyone who has earned a Ph.D (Doctor of Philosophy) is entitled to use the title Dr. But sometimes non-medical professionals prefer not to use it so as not to confuse the less educated that they aren't medical doctors.
She is not a Ph.D.
I remember earlier this year when the less educated Whoopi Goldberg hoped Joe would appoint Dr. Jill as Surgeon General.
This is nothing new. Is it possible some people didn't know this?
Yes.
A couple years ago I had an exchange right here on c-d with a guy who insisted that Neil Degrasse Tyson didn't have a degree in science, he had a degree in philosophy.
Well, well well. It's apparent that many here have not attended college or university. Many, if not most, professors are addressed as Dr. XXXX. They have earned their title by receiving their Ph.D in their respective field. A Ph.D is not the same as an MD but both attain the right to use the title of Doctor. I am halfway through a doctoral program. You can all call me Doctor I. B. Ginnie once it's completed.
Seriously, people before you go spouting this type of nonsense, use your favorite search engine and look things up before posting. Learn something new.
She doesn't have a PhD. She has Ed.D, a 3 year part time qualification from the University of Delaware. A very, very long way from a PhD.
None the less, she certainly has the right to use the title Dr. Just as anyone has the right to shake their head at her hubris.
