So what happens if the virus is mutating to the point the current vaccines won't work. Are you fine waiting another 10 months for the next vaccine to tackle the new strain becomes available?

The new variant features 17 alterations to the original coronavirus strain, many of them to the virus's spike protein which vaccines are being developed to target

If the vaccines don't work, this will be the new way of life. No gathering outside your household unless it's a BLM protest. No more in person schools, movie theaters, festivals, parties, gyms, churches, and any other form of meeting with people outside your household in a public setting. The singular exemption of BLM will serve as the new "bar" or "meetup" or mixer" if you'd like to get to know new people in person in a group setting. This will insure that BLM will become more popular so that everyone who wants to mingle will join them.

I read something about this awhile ago. Here's another source. Doesn't say anything about ineffectiveness of vaccines though.

So what? The mortality rate is still extremely low even without a vaccine. It may mean a yearly booster like the flu.

Meanwhile the courts are starting to overturn the restrictions, at least in my state. Businesses are defying restrictions and law enforcement refuses to enforce the orders. The fear mongers are starting to lose.

We don't know that yet. There's no consensus on the mortality rate.

I think it is a victory with a lot of negatives, almost so many that it isn't worth the win. Let's remember, despite restrictions, California is seeing a glut of cases, over-run hospitals and unnecessary death from unstaffed beds. Arizona is seeing the same despite no return to restrictions. What happens to Arizona over the next few weeks, is what California should expect as the restrictions are turned over.

I could imagine them offering Covid vaccines every year when they give out flu shots.

People will have to try to summon the willpower to develop a healthier immune system by cutting down eating junk food and exercising. If overweight, lose weight.
