"Equity," or the idea that all people should achieve the same level of success in life, is Communism trying to hide behind a thin veil.
This will probably devolve into a word game of definitions but to me ' Equity' by way of government force to prevent you from achieving success through hard work and consensual contract is just plain wrong.
Equity goes totally counter to the science and natural laws.... Giving people handouts for mediocrity and/or bad life choices. When the left talks about respecting the science I just laugh.
People are at their best during competition. We are wired to feel our best when we achieve. Discomfort causes an animal species to change it's behavior and adapt. That's evolution. When we become dependent and entitled mental illness rates skyrocket.
There should be lifetime limits on section 8, food stamp, and medicaid usage of around 5 years for everyone older than 18. If a person can't improve their life situation in that timeframe they end up relying on the good will of others or end up homeless. There should be no corporate bailouts, no subsidies for large businesses of ANY sort. That's what filing bankruptcy is for.
Until we restore a society where failure is allowed the decay will continue.

Googled some definitions:
Equality is providing the same level of opportunity and assistance to all segments of society, such as races and genders.
Equity is providing various levels of support and assistance depending on specific needs or abilities.
Communism is a political theory derived from Karl Marx, advocating class war and leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs
Sounds like communism might incorporate principles of equity, but communism is much broader than that. I'm not a big fan of equity, but I would say that, just because something is part of communism doesn't mean we should reject it outright.
