They've already tipped their hand enough we know they don't give a hoot about stopping crime. They want to control the same people they plan to put on their enemies lists. Having an armed population prevents the unopposed imposition of tyranny.

From 2006 to 2017 there was 271 incidents with a total of 1,358 victims with "mass shooting" events meaning those which most likely used an AR-15. The vast majority of non suicide firearm deaths are committed by handguns, not assault rifles, and 1,358 victims is less than the number of abortions that occur in a SINGLE DAY in this country which averages around 2300 abortions per day.
Maybe we should ban abortion and force people to make responsible life choices. We are literally trying to solve a non-existent problem. I'd rather keep mine just in case the great reset crowd tries to throw their weight around. I always try to get gun owners who don't own one into them for this reason.... they are much better to have around with spare magazines in case of commie apocalypse.

Not surprising that the Biden administration is already calling for gun control. After all, you can't have citizens actually defending themselves after you defund the police forces.
'is already calling for gun control' -other wise known as seed planting. They want the public to have the words 'gun control' on the tips of their tongue. And of course they will pick a high profile shooting involving children because the left travels on and/or likes to evoke emotion. If they get people to act on emotion and not think thats when they want to make their moves.
It's creepy and sad but after the next high profile shooting/murder we all know what's coming from these politician people.
